Rating: Summary: Un Wise Review: Gary Ezzo is not qualified to give childcare advice. He has been discredited over and over, and dropped by his publishser. He continues to publish these on his own. Look up Gary Ezzo on the internet for the critiques of this material. Don't do this to your child!
Rating: Summary: Best author of Child rearing curriculum I have found Review: I have known many families that have raised their children accouding the principals taught by the Ezzo's and most of them have delightful children. Gary is human and I disagree with a few of his ideas, but his curriculum is the best I have found.
Rating: Summary: Chew the hay and spit out the sticks Review: I have read most of the "On Becoming" books by Garry Ezzo. I'm actually ordering a replacement. We have kids ranging in age from 14 to still in the womb. I have found his books so helpful at every stage. I may not agree 100% with some of what he suggests, so you eat the hay and spit out the sticks! Without fail each of his books have practical suggestions to use in challenging situations with our children. I'll try rephrasing something as he suggests and lo and behold...it works! Life made a little simpler. We are a home schooling family and our kids are very well adjusted. They are developing thier own "moral shelves" and Gods grace has been awsome. We have applied many of the principles in these books and have found them most helpful and encouraging. I reccomment them in a heartbeat!
Rating: Summary: Useful information for this critical stage Review: My wife and I got the workbook and tapes of this entry into the Ezzo's famous "-Wise" series, and were very happy with it. We used their BabyWise principles with our little ones, and found it solid ground for our parenting. Now they are in school and getting more independent every day. We returned the tried and true "Ezzo books" as my wife calls them.We particularly liked the teachings on moving toward "influence" as the child grows. No longer does the child spend most of his time at home, but outside the home - where direct control and supervision is not possible. As Christians, we also took comfort in their direction to helping our children be Godly young men. The teenage years can be the best!

Rating: Summary: WARNING! DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! Review: This book doesn't even rate a zero. IT should receive NEGATIVE stars. Amazon should pull all the Gary Ezzo books from its store. His theological background is suspect, his medical knowledge is from the Dark Ages. The American Pediatrics Association and other prominent child rearing organizations hve DENOUNCED Ezzo and his methods. His organization is FOR-PROFIT. It is very very scary that this quack can continue to spew his foul garbage at people in the name of some vague interpretation of "Christianity". The advice is mean spirited at its best, medically unsound and HARMFUL TO SMALL CHILDREN at its worst. PLEASE, turn to Dobson for true Christian values, Weissbluth for FLEXIBLE sleep training and to La Leche for VALID information on breast-feeding. Parents, please, please, please LOVE your child, don't MANAGE him with bad advice from a self promoter who has no medical training and who is too busy counting the money he's raked in to ever have bothered with becoming an ordained minister. Of course, no legitimate organized denomination would have him !
Rating: Summary: A great applicable read Review: What a phenomenal book. The authors give helpful and applicable information in an easy read format. The book really works as my daughter is living proof. I have raised her with the whole Babywise system and she is a wonderful girl. The book gives good ideas and problem solving tips. I like the structure but yet the flexibility of the program. A must read for anyone with kids or planning on having kids.
