Summary: Real Life
Review: The Harris Men, unfortunately, shares the life and pain of men and women abandoned by fathers. The book hit a responsive chord and concured up incidents from my childhood. Several chapters were so real that they brought tears to my eyes.

While not a text book, The Harris Men should be required reading for young men. It provides much insight on manhood, as well as, how and how not to be a father.

Summary: sleeper hit
Review: This book is definetly one of the sleeper hits of the year 1999/2000. The book is superbly written with charachters that are believable and so real you can feel their pain throughout the story lines. This story is told from an african american males perspective about what happens when a parent walks away and does not contact his sons for years. Can the fences ever be truly mended and what excuses, reasoning or logic could that parent have to explain to his 3 sons the reasons for losing contact. I highly recommend this book to men and women of all ages, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. This is truly a must read!!!!!!!!

Summary: It Took My Breath Away
Review: The characters in this novel were so real to me that I almost forgot where I was. The character development and backstory were both done beautifully. Once my son is old enough to understand it, I plan to have him read The Harris Men. I particularly felt for Caleb and I would love to see a sequel.

Summary: Simply excellent
Review: Harris men is an excellent book! I loved the way that R.M. Johnson takes the time to develop each character so that you can actually visualize them. I was really interested in Caleb's character. I would love to know what happened to him. I hope that it will have a part 2. The only part about the book that I disliked was the father wanting to re-enter their lives . He left them and wanted to come back into it like he never left. This is an excellent book and I am looking forward to many more by this this excellent author.

Summary: There IS a sequel.
Review: He said it. I saw him and phenom author Lolita Files in Fort Lauderdale this summer. Talk about a one-two punch. They were outstanding. The crowd was mesmerized. And he told us there WOULD be a sequel. I read this the day after I bought it and it didn't disappoint me. Miss Files encouraged the audience not to sleep on his talent. She was telling it like it is. This and his other book 'Father Found' (I wrote a review for it too) are two of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: A Jawdropper.
Review: What an incredible book. I stumbled upon The Harris Men by accident. I was glued to the page as I watched these men unfold before me. Johnson is a terrific storyteller. Please, please, please, please, please tell me there's a sequel.

Summary: It's About Damn Time
Review: Finally, something for the brothers! Terry damn near messed it up for everybody. R.M. Johnson wrote something for us. The message: guess what, ladies? WE AIN'T ALL DOGS. There are actual reasons behind why we behave as we do, same as why you act the way you do. This book is magnificent. It tells it like it is. And unlike some of the female authors out there, R.M. Johnson doesn't rip his female characters. Everyone is treated with a fair and just hand. As it should be.

Summary: Finally, an emotional experience from a male author!
Review: I loved the way Johnson dug into his characters' psyche, instead of filling the pages of his book with meaningless events. You really had to fall in love with these men, because you got to know them so well. I can't wait until his next book. This man is going to rock the publishing industry if he keeps going this route.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: BRAVO!
Review: R.M. Johnson is awesome! He has written a book that every man on the planet, black, white, green and purple should read. He taps into the mind of men affected by the absence of a father and realistically addresses how it impacts every area of their lives and he manages to depict the women they deal with equal accuracy. When the father tries to come back, you find yourself feeling compassion and pain for everyone involved. Bravo, bravo, bravo! A real writer has emerged!

Summary: Changed My Life.
Review: This book is excellent. I read it in one night. It was good to see how each brother dealt with the return of their father. When I finished, I called my own father. I hadn't talked to him in three years. The best books create change. R.M. Johnson's book changed my life.
