Rating: Summary: A marvelous resource Review: A wonderful resouce for directing you through the maze of infertility. Well written at a level which through rich in content - is easily understood. I would highly recommend this book to anyone trying to get pregnant effectively and efficiently.
Rating: Summary: This book gave me renewed hope Review: I ran across this book while waiting in the office of yet another fertility specialist.
After three years of unsuccessful attempts to have a child, I was interviewing another docter and since I had some time to read, I did. I flew through the first few chapters and had a better understanding of what was possible. When it came time to interview my new doctor, I was able to ask him intelligent questions that had been brought up from my reading and amazingly the answers I received where counter to what my previous doctors had been telling me. I'm not saying this new guy was a miracle worker or anything, it's just that he had a "Success oriented approach to fertility." He was progressive and highly motivated to help us have a child.
I was thrilled with the fact that I had a guide to help me navigate through the maze of medical terms, procedures and myriad of drug choices. Thankfully this new approach helped me and my husband refocus on our goal with a success oriented approach or my personal mantra "don't take no for an answer."
Thankfully we will be having a happy ending to our infertilty story in a couple of weeks when we welcome our new son into our family.
If you have reached the end of your infertility rope, read this book and don't take no for an answer. If you focus everything on having a child, you will find a way.
Rating: Summary: Go directly to IVF, do not pass go, do not collect $200 Review: I was very disappointed in this book, it is one long infomercial for IVF (in vitro fertilization). The "prescription" is IVF, no matter what the cause of your infertility. I had hoped for some outside-the-box insights about things to try, but the only suggestion is pretty much "do IVF." And if you're not a good candidate for IVF with your own eggs, then do donor-egg IVF. That's pretty much all this book says.
