Rating: Summary: Excellent resource! Review: Finally, a readable resource for parents and care givers of children who have been impacted by the "culture of trauma" in this country. This book is an excellent resource for parents in view of the many instances of school violence we have experienced in the last few years. I was so happy to find real guidelines and specific examples of what to say and do in the face of the constant bombardment of violence on television, in movies, as well as in real life. Concrete, straightforward, but always readable. I heartily recommend it to other parents, teachers and counselors.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Resource!!! Review: This enlightening and captivating book is a user-friendly and wonderful tool to have! I was impressed by this author's ability to educate and inform in very efficient and effective ways. I recommend this for anyone who has a part in working with children. This is also a great reference for parents wanting to know more about how children function, cope, and heal during and after trauma.
