Her work on this book, and research into the lives of real people in real situations is filled with honesty. Makes me know the feelings, thoughts I had as I journeyed with my husband through cancer were normal, and that I was not a flegling Christian because of my weakness.Keep Writing Connie!!!!!!

Review: I believe every woman (married or not) should read this book and keep it in her library. Personally, I want to share the book with others but I am reluctant to loan my copy so I have purchased copies to give away. YES! I believe it is that good. I never realized so many women go through similar things with their husbands. This book covers whatever the problems are or might be. Connie Neal has been there and she spoke with and received input from other women who have been there -- their husabnds may have been unfaithful, or abusive, or had cancer, or walked out, or committed a crime. But whatever his personal hell the wife goes through the crisis too. Bill McCartney founder of Promise Keepers said: "This book shows a wife how to go through tough times with her husband without faltering in her own faith, and how to be a source of spiritual strength for him. Men, if you're going through tough times or fighting some spiritual battle, do yourself a favor, give your wife this book." That last sentence is what happened to me. My husband spotted this book several months ago and got it for me. I didn't know at the time how much I was going to need it. But God did. So my recommendation is, get the book and read it. Then keep it in your library. I pray you never need it, but if you do you will have it and if you don't I still believe it will help to read it -- maybe it will help you to help another woman going through a crisis with her husband.

Review: I recently finished reading this book (devouring it is more of an apt description). My husband is, as I write, "going through hell", and I am clinging tenaciously to my God, because He is my only hope. All around me, I am being persuaded to "let him go", " get rid of him", etc, - the world's answers to all problems - discard & recycle. Jesus very graciously led me to Connie Neal's book. At last, here in written form was the feelings of my heart - what about all the promises I made to You, Lord, & the promises You made to me? I loved this book and have re-read it now several times over these past couple of months. I am doing all that Connie suggests that she and the others she wrote about who have experienced first hand the anguish of storms and trials in their marriages did when there was nothing they could do other than turn to God. I am so grateful for the honesty and obedience of all these christians who have exposed the most awful times of their lives for the encouragement of ME. Watch this space to see how God triumphs!!!

It covered all the bases of my relationship with God and my spouse. I knew I was being ministered to through this book. I look at things so differently now... not just because of the author's practical applications of God's Word,(which was truly enlighting) , but the sheer ability to motivate me to change and place myself in a position to seek God more in regards to my marriage, and His total purpose for marriage.
