Rating: Summary: Every Parent's Guide to Attachment Parenting Review: I was fortunate to get an autographed copy of this book from the author. She wrote - PARENT WITH YOUR HEART AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. I think what she wrote in the book describes the reason behind this book. She is an advocate for attachment parenting. She wants parents to have the best choices available to them. She arms you with information that is important to pregnant woman, nursing mother's and parents. Attachment Parenting is based on instincts and knowledge. The book dispells the old myths of past generations. Foolish notions of old like it is best to let a baby cry it out, or if you hold a baby too much you will spoil it. Any new parent will certainly find helpful information that will answer there questions. I find it nice to share stories with other mothers on the getattached.com website. All the best to new parents everywhere.

Rating: Summary: Midwest Book Review Review: If you are a new parent and you are out there exploring your options then Every Parent's Guide To Attachment Parenting is a book that you have to pick up. Filled with everything that you would need or want to know about Every Parent's Guide To Attachment Parenting. It amply illustrates the tremendous resources available for those choosing this method as well as the instinctive reasoning behind it. Included are some lovely photographs that highlight each issue brought up by the well defined chapters. My absolute favorite is Chapter 9; Books, Support Groups, Web Sites, Mailing Lists & Product Information. I think it is the best bet for quickly finding the resources to put you on the right path. Rating: Summary: Attachment Parenting Review: Motherhood is a wonderful time for me. I learned a lot from this book and feel validated in a lot of my own beliefs about childraising. Our family practices many of the suggestions in this book. Our children are the love of our lives and I wouldn't think of raising them any other way.
Rating: Summary: Self-indulgent; a collection of emails does not make a book Review: The editor of this mess should be ashamed. (Or should I say "editors?" From the acknowledgements it looks like it was a handful of her friends and family who proofread for her.) Not only does this book read poorly, it is unbalanced, does not cite sources and even fails to acknowledge that the ideas in this book (e.g. the name "Attachment Parenting") were learned somewhere, not all invented by the author. Some portions--such as her chapter on (not) circumcising--are downright offensive, despite being mostly correct! We are firmly committed attachment parents; my wife is a children's therapist and would not dream of parenting any other way, and our families are very supportive of this style of parenting. This book would not have convinced us, however, nor would it have helped us convince anyone else. What we had hoped to gain from this book was some new insights, maybe a valuable lesson or two. We were very disappointed. It has saving graces: the stories from other parents are occasionally interesting, and the appendix listing other resources contained some we hadn't seen. But do yourself a favor: pick up Granju et. al. instead. It is thoughtful, attractively put together, well-researched, and contains loads of useful information that we've not seen elsewhere. Add to this as many books by William and Martha Sears as you can get, and maybe a breastfeeding book like "Womanly Art," and you'll be all set.
Rating: Summary: I agree with the Midwest Book Review Review: The reviewer was right that said that if you are a new parent out there exploring your options then Every Parent's Guide to Attachment Parenting is a book you have to pick up. Great information.
Rating: Summary: Valuable information Review: This book contained information that was helpful to me. Idiscovered that Tammy Deppe has a web site(getattached) chock full ofinformation concerning Attachment Parenting. I am greatful for the advice in the book and even happier to have an opportunity ask questions on-line to her site...There are so many other Attacment Parenting mothers on this site that I feel I have found a whole new group of friends that I can count on for good advice. I particularly liked the information concerning the hospital stay and the options that are available.
Rating: Summary: WOW! WONDERFUL! WOW! Review: This book saved me from making a big mistake with my son. I am so happy I read about cicumcision here. Other books don't even dare to tackle this subject.
