Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 'Counseling Children' is really worth 5 stars !!!!
Review: Written in a friendly and easy to understand format, Thompson & Rudolph "Counseling for Children" - is a detail and an invaluable book to own.

It features exclusively on 'Children' ... by first chapter including the introduction to the child's world (developmental and cognitive perspectives in influencing the child's world) ... subsequently including counselling theories specially for children from psychoanalytic, reality therapy, behavioural counselling, person-centred counselling, rational-emotive & cognitive-behavioural counselling etc..,

This book is so exclusive in children's counselling that it also includes counseling children in cross-cultural perspectives, types of play therapies, children special concerns w/ ADHD, HIV, Divorce, Homeless, Depression and Suicide, Exceptional children etc., and least not forgetting .... social and legal ethical issues governing counselling for children.

At the end of each chapter, the author has included references case studies examples and especially websites specially related to every individual chapters ... websites related to mental health institutions, specialised therapy centres for education, colleges and universities in the U.S.

This book is a real-buy and recommended as ideal for readers (counsellors, psychologists, students etc.,)
