Summary: Very well written
Review: I have been reading this book and have been overwhelmed at what this couple has been through. I am not going through infertility but it has really opened my eyes as to what a couple goes through. The highs and lows of trying to concieve a family. Seeing how infertility also affects not just the couple but thier parents, brothers and sisters. I recommend this book to anyone. Carrie spent a great deal of time doing research and has also included valuable information for anyone looking to adopt.

Summary: A real eye-opener that really moved me
Review: I just finished this book, cover to cover, I couldn't put it down. This book is written journal style about the author's experience with infertility and international adoption. It is an excellent book for anyone to read, whether they are going through these events or not. I really feel that it gave me a better understanding of the emotional rollercoaster that people go through and has helped me be more aware before asking others stupid questions. We are looking into international adoption and really were happy with the honest description of the process and the great result.

Summary: A real eye-opener that really moved me
Review: My sister and her husband have been trying to have a child for 13 years and have gone to a lot of doctors without any success. I bought this book at the suggestion of an online friend, and it really opened my eyes to the struggle my sister and her husband have been going through. The person who wrote this book really seems to let it all out, and I found myself getting very emotional at times during this book because I saw my sister going through this. I will admit that I was not a fan of adoption before reading this book but now have an entirely different view of adoption and will support my sister if she decides to go this way. This is the first time I've found a book that really shows the human side of infertility and adoption and I think anyone who knows someone having trouble getting pregnant should read it.

Summary: It was like looking into my future!
Review: This book has helped me sooo much! My husband and I are both experiencing fertility problems and are dealing with our options right now. Reading about the procedures that Carrie went though, and seeing her and Robert's emotions along the way just made it so real for me. I was able to see what it would be like if we went through certain procedures - how I would feel, the emotional and financial toll, etc. Also - I just loved reading about the adoption. Personally, we are leaning toward adoption and probably even from Russia so reading this story has given me nothing but encouragement. She opened my eyes to the process and I feel like I know more about what we will have ahead of us. Her willingness to share the good times and the bad is what made this book so wonderful! I felt like I was living through it as I read along. Highly recommended if you are having any fertility problems and want to know what lies ahead of you. Also - recommended if you are interested in adoption - great success story!

Summary: This book will speak to many couples
Review: This book reminds us of the powerful drive of all living things: To reproduce itself. Carrie Ostrea's experience will speak to many couples who experience infertility. They will find their own feelings and frustrations acknowledged in this poignant portrayal of the emotional, physical and sociological effects infertility has on a couple's relationship. Like Beverly Barna's book says, Infertility Sucks and we can see throughout Ostrea's book what miseries she went through. The grieving over something so fundamental as giving birth is painful to read about. But there is a bright light at the end of this tunnel: Adoption. Ostrea's story has a happy ending with good advice on adoption to boot.
