Summary: No More Power Struggles
Review: Excellent book Dr. Dixon. I see myself and my family on almost every page. This has helped me take charge of my kids by putting my parenting energy before they act out, not after they do. My kids have responded so positively to your parenting philosophy,, we have cut down on the struggles a hundred fold,,, Thank you,, A must read for all parents

Summary: An effective and common sense approach to parenting your kid
Review: Hillary Clinton is WRONG. In her book It Takes A Village she assumes that a Village can do a better job than parents can. She does not realize that when a Village raises the Child, The Parents lose their say...

My Book It Doesn't Take a Village is an effective guide that helps parents take back control of their homes and their children. Parents today feel powerless and unsupported by the Village. Schools, Social Service Departments and Police Departments often support the Child instead of the Parent raising the Child...

My book helps parents understand the developmental stages and needs of their children. Organized in chapter form, starting with the pre-teenager, and going through early, middle, and late adolescence, the parent will learn how to effectively deal with the difficult behaviors that their children display at each age.

It Doesn't Take a Village will help parents reach that all important "consistency" with their children. It is set up so that you may enjoy the rewards of successful parenting, by decreasing the unnecessary power struggles you have with your child and teenager. I truly wish you good luck in your most important task... Parenting your child(ren). steve dixon ph.d

Summary: Excellent book
Review: I found It doesn't take a village to be simply the best parenting guide out there. I have four kids ranging from age 10 to 17, and Dr. Dixon has helped me a great deal. First he helped me understand what is going on with my kids, and then he helped me set appropriate and consistent limits on them. I was/am a parent that often times let my emotions dictate how I would deal with my teenagers, and at times, I lost control. Dr. Dixon has coached me to parent my teens without the mistakes of emotionality... I am enjoying putting the books ideas into practice. My kids hate it, but I love it. Finally, I feel like I am in charge of my home and of my children.

A must read...

Summary: Excellent book
Review: I may be prejudiced about this book, since Dr. Dixon is our son's psychologist, but his advice is right on the mark. This book gives parents confidence to take charge of their children's upbringing, rather than allowing society to tell us how to raise them.

Summary: No More Power Struggles
Review: I wish i had discovered unemotional parenting along time ago. Putting Parents in charge teaches you how to disciple with alot less stress. As a mother of 3 teenages i was always on an emotional rollercoster. My inconsistancies allowed them to renegotiate any punishments. Now by making contracts ahead of time allows them to learn that they make the choices and the consequences. It is never too late to get to know your child and teach them responsiblity.
