Review: I read this book because a friend of mine had recommended it to me. You know that Dave survived his ordeal because he starts off with his rescue before he goes back into his childhood. As I was reading the book, there were times when I would cry almost uncontrollable, how could a mother do that to her child.

After reading this book, I had the opportunity to meet Dave Pelzer and hear him speak. He is a wonderful person to be around and he almost always has a smile on his face.
