Summary: Dr. Larry Silver's Advice to Parents on ADHD
Review: I bought Dr. Silver's book on the recommendation of my daughter's pediatrician. I found it to be quite detailed and well-researched, but it was excruciatingly dry and clinical. I am usually a voracious reader, but I had trouble getting through this book. It's an important reference book if you are doing detailed research, but it's probably not the first book you should tackle after you learn your child has ADD. In my opinion, a better "first book" would be "Driven to Distraction" by Edward Hallowell et al.

Summary: Dr. Larry Silver's Advice to Parents on ADHD
Review: This was one of the first books that I read after discovering that my daughter had ADHD and also LD. I found Dr. Silver's book very thorough and very readable. I particularly liked and appreciated the chapter on dealing with ADHD in the family. So many of the other books seem to focus solely on school and homework issues when ADHD effects all aspects of a child's life.
I highly recommend this book to any parent with questions about ADHD and related issues.
