Review: When this treasure of a book was first printed, I began a correspondence with the author that lasted most of his life.
From the beginning, I was blown away by an author as wise as James Kimmel, about a taken for granted topic that I had investigated for decades.

How could a man understand what happened to modern women with clear simplicity and such deep compassion? The loss of authentic mothering has cost us all. Kimmel concisely tells us why, and moreover, how this happened.

Recently by chance I met Kimmel's grown son who accompanied his glowing pregnant wife, Yemaya, at a conference in which I was teaching. This lovely encounter reminded me that I used to give away WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MOTHER to all of my students. That is how important this book is for the sake of the Possible Earth. Without mothers who protect and nurture their babies in the way nature intended it, we will leave our planet in sorry shape to our grandchildren.
