Rating: Summary: The Child Within: 9 Months of Spiritual Preparation for the Review: Could not find where to read about this book on your website
Rating: Summary: the Child Within review for a new mom Review: I happened upon this book when I was pregnant for the first time with my daughter. It was the most moving and peaceful reading I had read in my pregnancy. It was short enough that you would actually resort to looking up the scriptures, but in depth enough to make you understand how precious and purposeful my existence was as a mother to be. I have often given the reference for all new mothers who need peace of mind and a connectedness to their child. After reading it, I was devoid of any fear and felt completely capable of delivery.. I don't know how I would of survived without this reading book. When all was said and done, I had delivered a healthy 9lb 10oz baby girl with no pain or fear AND NATURALLY. What I can appreciate most is how any mother from any denomination, or lack there of, can benefit from this material. You will find that you want to share it but not physically, as it will become a necessary part of any woman's library.
Rating: Summary: Great monthly devotional!! Review: I really liked this book. I didn't find it until my 8th month, but it really helped me find out a lot about what the Bible has to say about children, as well as help me pray for my baby. One thing that I really liked was the format of the book. It was written in month segments with teaching and then questions and answers. Following that scriptures were listed so you could do more in-depth study. I really prefer it over an everyday devotional, because I never seem to get those done. This way I had freedom to complete each section in the time that I wanted to.
Rating: Summary: Precious Time Well-spent! Review: My sister sent me this book shortly after I found out we were pregnant. It has been a wonderful way to get my mind, heart and spirit around the fact that we are really going to have a baby. The month-by-month devotionals are short and sweet, but invite you to explore further scripture reading on your own, and reminded me to invite God to stand with me in my fears, and cast them away. (I tend to forget that part, only thanking Him when blessings are apparent!) This book would be a blessing to any expectant mother seeking to deepen her faith, especially in a first pregnancy!
