Rating: Summary: A "must have" if you are pregnant! Review: I am newly pregnant and this organizer has been wonderful for me. It has a page every month to show your body's growth throughout the nine months. There is also a daily space for reminders or to journal your thoughts, emotions, or symptoms. The organizer also includes checkoff lists for things such as buying maternity clothes (no matter what season you are pregnant), buying things for the nursery, or questions to go over with your doctor, hospital and daycare provider. It truly is a "must have" if this is your first pregnancy or your fifth!
Rating: Summary: not wild about this one Review: I purchased several books when I learned that I was pregnant. This book seemed to have comprehensive information, as well as a way to efficiently organize appointments, etc. However, the organizer is not intuitive to complete -- you begin numbering on the day of your LMP, but then the organizer follows a calender year format, so it is not clear how to number the days. Also, there is no space to enter the dates/days of the week. I found myself crossing out the dates several times, which created a mess. The book has several errors, as well -- e.g., states that both you and your mate each contribute 46 chromosomes (impossible!), then describes emotional changes secondary to hormones as "emotional liability" (the correct term is "emotional lability"). This misinformation caused me to doubt the correctness of the entire book! Finally, while the book begins on the date of your LMP, it provides information regarding embryological development on a weekly basis, starting with the date of fertilization. As a result, the "monthly" information is actually "off" by 2 weeks! On the positive side, there are some good questions to ask providers, etc -- but this information is easily obtained (free) online.
Rating: Summary: OK if You Want A Lot of Information Review: I was dissapointed with this organizer when I received it. I was looking for more of a journal/ organizer type of book than an informational book. This would have been a good gift for my first pregnancy but I wanted more space this time around to record doctors appointments, tests, ultrasounds, etc... This book just doesn't have it.Wish I had stuck with the one I used for the first baby, What to Expect When You Are Expecting Pregnancy organizer. A lot more room to record your own info. I would give this as a gift to a first time mom though.
