Summary: Help your children learn to enjoy writing
Review: Socks & buddy are used in a great way by the First Lady to help children understand the importance of writing and how parents can get thier children involved in learning how to write. Mrs. Clinton gives wonderful tips to parents to get thier children started. One idea is to ask your children to play waiter and take your mealtime order or for parents to write a postcard everyday on there Business trips so that the children become engaged by writing. The pictures in the book take you in but the letters from the children and Mrs Clintons insights make it worth buying!!!

Summary: A mix of notes from adorable kids and future famous authors
Review: Some notes, I think, were chosen because of overall cuteness and some because they were written surprisingly well. My favorite letter would be the one on page 124 (that's because I wrote it) but I also like the one on page 161. Page 114 is a good example of a future author.

Summary: Cute read for kids and political animal crackers
Review: The first book that I read by the former First Lady was "It Takes A Village" which was politically brilliant as well as astute, practical and forward reaching. This book however is absolutely wonderful, a real treasure, and shows yet again that Hilary Rodham-Clinton has very much a charming and engaging way of being able to communicate with young people. Not being a young person though I still bought the book, for myself - and I don't regret it one little bit. regards, martyn_jones@iniciativas.com

Review: This was a sweet, funny and thoroughly appealing book. It certainly satisfied my curiosity about how these two charmers get along as First Cat & Dog and get along with each other. The children's letters were funny and enchanting and the entire book was delightful.

"Dear Socks, Dear Buddy, Kids' Letters To The First Pets" is a great match of childrens' engaging letters to the President's cat and dog,with the First Lady's stories and facts about not only their pets, but former White House furry residents. The wonderful photographs throughout the book give the reader a look at what life inside the White House is for the First Dog and the First Cat. This is a "feel good" book that will put a smile on everyone's face, regardless of age, political affiliation or animal preference. The point of this book is to encourage children to write letters, whether the letters are meant for the President or for a four-legged creature that chases tennis balls all day. In addition, this book will bring attention to the importance of treating animals with love and respect. Five meows, five barks and five stars for this great holiday release.
