Summary: Entertaining practical help for parents and caregivers
Review: "This extraordinary book is a wonderful resource for all adults who have children in their lives. If I had to pick just one book to give to new parents, this would be it." Wendy Martyna, Psychologist and Educator University of California

Summary: All the profits from this book benefit a great non-profit!
Review: 1,2,3...The Toddler Years, is published by the Santa Cruz Toddler Care Center (SCTCC) - non-profit childcare center. All the profits go directly into its high-quality Toddler childcare program. 45 - 50% of the families who use the center are low income families. The Center also provides a free respite slot to a family in crises who need childcare for their toddler. The Center has won awards from the California State Department of Education and The Santa Cruz County Women's commission. Buy this book and support a great program!!!

Summary: Respect for little ones with few words
Review: Being a first time parent I have collected tons of parenting books-this is hands down my favorite. I often found my 11 month old frustrated with with all the house rules, diaper changes, and nap schedules that he didn't consent to or understand. This book gave be a number of useful ideas about about how talk to him about all uncomfortable feelings he was having. It also recommended ways to give him choices in daily activities and how to set bounderies in a respectful manner. Clear simple-easy to read. Highly recommended for all those parents tring to give there little ones more control over their life while keeping them safe in the process.

Summary: A Must for First Time Parents
Review: I am so glad I found this book. As a first time parent it gave me a context for addressing specific toddler behaviors in a healthful and respectful manner for both myself and my child. The short, clear chapters on each subject enabled me to (a) finish the book and (b) refresh my memory quickly when new behaviors presented themselves. This book is a confidence builder for any parent. My oldest child is now 8 and I am still using the "respectful" techniques I learned from this book.

Summary: Your child will enjoy it too.
Review: I bought this book to find out what to expect from my daughter as a single dad who doesn't have the female advantage of babysitting expierience.

Many helpful tips, the baseline is: take it easy but plan ahead, combined with lot's of practical tips and tricks how to do it, what to say to other people, even with a few cooking reciepies.

My daughter (1 year 10 months) also loves the book, and can spend hours looking at the pictures. After I bought it she stoped crying when I left her at daycare, started to pottytrain and puts her shoes on herself.

Summary: You need a book a for this?
Review: I guess I was just hoping for something more profound. Most of the book boils down to listening, talking and loving. In my opinion the parent that is involved enough to look for a toddle specific behavior book doesn't need the common sense advice this book doles out. If you know a really bad parent, this might be a good gift for them but since you're good enough to want to find a book to make you better, you don't need this one.

Summary: 1,2,3...
Review: is simply the best toddler book out there. In the same vein as books such as How To Talk So Kids Will Listen (and Listen So Kids Will Talk), this book shows ways to communicate with and understand the little people in your life. I know few other books that show such respect for children and their individual process as this one. As a nanny and an aunt, I highly recommend it for all who interact with children!

Summary: QUICK EASY READING AND GREAT FOR QUICK REFERENCE
Review: My sons daycare teacher gave me this book to read when i told her i was having a little trouble handling the terrible two's. Since i have read this book i know its one of those books i would like to have of my own for quick reference. I could relate to every scituation described. Great for parents and daycare (home or centers).

Summary: don't waste your time
Review: Such a waste of money. I thought this would be set up like "what to expect the toddler years" and others like it. It wasn't and had no real point of reference for anything. It was also very boring. I suggest anything but this.
