Rating: Summary: Retirement: what is important Review: I received this book a couple weeks ago, I wish I had it 4 years ago when my husband retired. Life's Best Chapter: Retirement by Johnnie C Godwin is THE book for anyone moving from the workplace into retirement, regardless of goals you have already set for one's retirement lifestyle. And tho you may be retired, you will find some great advice & tips for your future. This is not a financial how-to..it deals with life issues. Based on his own experience, the author tells of trial and error lessons learned (his & his friends & acquaintances). He is very honest about his mistakes & his joys. He sometimes hits below the belt, but then we need that kind of hit now & then. Mostly I read the book, laughed & learned. Highest recommendation!
Rating: Summary: Productive Christian Lifestyle Retirement Review: The author focuses on a retirement lifestyle for readers to consider choosing to make life's senior years the dessert chapter of life. Vocations come and go, but there is a continuing stewardship of life that never ends. In a sense, the author agrees with those who say they'll never retire; but, in another sense, he focuses on retooling for greater effectiveness when making a living is less critical than making a life continue to be meaningful. The book has little to say about finances; it has everything to say about choosing meaningful and enjoyable life in retirement--all the way to the final page of life. Other retirement books tend to focus on finances, how to fill up time, and what to do. This book focuses on lifestyle retirement!
