Summary: At last a great sleep bible!
Review: This book became the "sleep bible" of a birth class I attended when I was pregnant with my son, who was born five months ago. We really liked it because it gives extremely helpful and basic advice on how to help your child to develop healthy sleep patterns, basically how to recognize the signs of sleep in a child before they get to the screaming, red-eyed, exhausted state. It helped us first time parents understand how to respond to our children's needs in a responsible, sensible, and informed way.

With this book, we were able to help our son develop a great sleep pattern, by watching him and understanding when he needed to sleep, and the importance of naps and sleep to his health and attention span. I think I highlighted the entire book with a pen! I am so glad I read this book BEFORE I gave birth to my son. We are able to protect him from the routinely inflicted hospital traumas that make sleep difficult for young boys. A must read!

Summary: A miracle for parents
Review: This book changed our lives. It is so amazing that I now give it to every one of my friends as a baby shower gift. I found this book (I truly believe that God sent it to me) and finally knew that it was time to help us learn about our baby's sleep patterns so that she could learn the right sleep habits. I could never bring myself to use all of the BabyWise book methods; they just seemed so harsh and cruel. I don't have time for all that discipline and authority nonsense. However, this book lays it all out with the reasonings behind all of the suggestions. The main thing is to just make sure you keep a positive attitude and give the right reassurance and interaction. Before we tried the methods in this book, our daughter cried a total of 55 minutes (which was extremely heartbreaking) each night at bedtime. However, the first night we tried the methods in this book she SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT and woke up HAPPY -- something she had never done! The next night I thought would be worse, but she put herself to sleep! By the third night, it was less than 10 minutes before she was fast asleep. Her naps also increased and she became a much happier baby. She is now 2 and a half years old and still sleeps better than most of her friends. This book is a miracle and a must have for all parents!

Summary: This Book Gets Results!
Review: This book did the trick! My husband and I have read just about every book out there on sleep. Sarah our 2-year-old did not do well with the advice given in those other books. The step-by step advice given by Dr. Fleiss worked like a charm. She is now sleeping through the night. We really liked his sensible family-based approach. I am buying an extra copy to give to my mother for when she babysits. I really recommend this book!

Summary: Best advice ever!
Review: This book is fantastic! My little boy has already started sleeping better after I used some of the gentle techniques that Dr. Fleiss recommends. The part about nutrition and exercise was really interesting. The amazing thing is that this book has even helped me get better sleep. My son and I practice the techniques together. I love the togetherness and family spirit that Dr. Fleiss advocates. Thanks Dr. Fleiss! Please write more books.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book is great! I am so glad that I read it before I have my 2nd baby. I learned a lot and I recommend it to anyone who wants solid information and useful tips on sleep. This book has proved to be a lifesaver for myself and my husband. At 4 months, my 1st baby was still getting up 3 times a night to nurse. This book helped me understand that he was hungry in the middle of the night because he needed the nourishment, not because he was a "bad" baby. Learning about the physiology of babies helped me to become a more relaxed and happy parent. Now, at 13 months, my baby has been sleeping through the night for 8 months! His daytime naps have improved and he is in much better spirits. If I only knew this before. It may not be for everyone, but for us it's been wonderful for our entire family!

Summary: Great Book!!!!!
Review: This book is terrific! I highly recommend it to anyone with a child of any age. We bought it because of our 8-year-old son's recent sleep problems. It worked like a charm. The information on nutrition was very useful. Who would'a thunk? Do yourself a favour and buy this book! It worked for us, it will work for you!

Summary: Great Information!
Review: This book was packed full of very useful information. The discussion about the right sleepware was really intriguing. I had never considered this aspect of sleep before. I had no idea that this was such a big topic! I am making some changes to my son's sleepware right now. I also appreciated Dr. Fleiss's fair treatment of both sides of the co-sleeping controversy. He should be applauded for his supportive stance on breastfeeding! It is about time that a sleep book pointed out that there are a lot of medical studies supporting breastfeeding as a gentle and effective way of helping babies sleep properly.

Summary: duh!
Review: This book was SUCH a disappointment! I was looking for help with establishing sleep patterns for my 3-month old, and this book was not the answer. Suggestions such as "don't give your child caffeine" and "don't play jarring music near bedtime"? Come on!

Summary: Very Helpful!
Review: This book was very helpful! I really liked the child-friendly, scientific approach. I highly recommend the book to parents of children of any age.
