Review: ...okay, well not everyone is as emotional as I am, but this was definitely one of those books that made you go "aaaawww" when you read it. I first read it before my son was born, and bought it immediately (the extra large version). We've also purchased this smaller one so that we've been able to read it to our son (who's now almost two). It seems to really define the love that one has for their children...more love than you can ever describe.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: More interesting to the adult than the child Review: "Guess How Much I Love You" is a nice simple story about a parent's desire to express his love for his child. We have had this book since the birth of my daughter and have read it to her on different occasions. However, it is not a book she pulls off her shelf to be read to her. Usually it is the adult visitor who oohs and ahhs over it and insists on reading it. The plot is just not interesting enough to hold my daughter's attention through the whole story nor to draw her back to it repeatedly. The book presents a lovely theme, unfortunately the story itself does not hold interest.

He loves it and that makes it enjoyable for all of us. Personally, I don't have a problem with the story. It's a cute way to express love.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: "Am I not good enough?" Review: Although my children (ages 1 and 3) have loved this book very much and requested it as a nighttime book for months now, there is something I find a little disturbing about this story. I know that the "oneupmanship" theme is a big part of this book, but as I read it, I feel badly for the little bunny, who no matter what he struggles to come up with, can never seem to be good enough for his father. I realize that that was not the author's intention, but there is something to be said for letting the children "win" once in a while to build their self-confidence. I'll bet that Little Nutbrown Hare's love for his Daddy is every bit as strong as his Father's love for him, even if his arms aren't as long and he can't jump as high.

It is so sweet and makes you get those warm fuzzy feelings. I am sure Nut Brown Hare will live in their hearts and they will be reading it to their children someday. It is the PERFECT bedtime book.

I thought this book was incredibly beautiful and moving. What a wonderful way to show my son how much I love him.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Appealing on many levels-a great book for toddlers. Review: There is a lot to like about this book. First of all, it has a very positive love message for fathers and sons, not all that common a theme in children's books. Secondly, the sort of "one-ups-man-ship" theme is on that naturally appeals to kids that age. The story itself is sweet without being cloying, and the illustrations are first rate.A great book for older pre-schoolers. As has been noted in many previous reviews, reading the book seems to stimulate a "how much do you love me" game with the kids and parents who read the book a lot. Given that the desire to be loved is one key need at this age group, a book that stimulates you to talk and play with your child in a way that distinctly communicates your love for him/her has got to be a good thing. This is one of those books your kid's will grow out of before you do-much to your sorrow. I highly recommend it.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: How do you show how much you love someone you love so much? Review: Little Nutbrown Hare is going to bed and asks Big Nutbrown Hare the magic question, "Guess how much I love you." What follows is an endearing contest of one upmanship because whatever Little Nutbrown Hare comes up with, Big Nutbrown Hare comes up with something bigger and better. Certainly kids will be able to relate to not only Little Nutbrown Hare's feelings but also the need to express them, because when you love somebody as much as the Little Nutbrown Hare loves the Big Nutbrown Hare, it is very important that you find a way to communicate that love. Children and parents will both find Sam McBratney's story very true to life and will be impressed by what Little Nutbrown Hare comes up with in the end. And I would not be surprised if the illustrations by Anita Jeram will have the little ones drawing bunnies for weeks. That is certainly what happened in my house.
