Review: A wonderful, touching story about a BIG hare and a baby hare, and lots of love to go around. The story is clever and the illustrations are wonderful. My children LOVE having this story read to them. A must for your personal children's library!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A somewhat demeaning book for little ones Review: This is a story of the little hare trying to tell the big hare how much he loves him (her), only to be told or shown each time how much more, bigger, higher the big hare can do the things the little hare just tried to do. While it may be demonstrating that the big hare loves the little one more, it never acknowleges the little hare for what he could do. For instance, "'I love you as high as I can hop' laughed Little Nutbrown Hare... 'But I love you as high as I can hop', smiled Big Nutbrown Hare -- and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above. That's good hopping, thought Little Nutbrown Hare. I wish I could hop like that." In almost every instance it left the little hare wishing he could. I found the story demeaning and would never read it to my child.

My friend produced this book, and we sat together and read it from cover to cover. This has got to be one of the most moving children's books I've ever read. By the end, he had stopped crying, and asked me to read it again. The illustrations are excellent. At the very next opportunity I went out and bought the book. It was fairly expensive, but well worth every penny. We love it to the moon and back.

I bought it for my son many many years ago and now my toddler daughter loves it just as much. It is very cute and heart-warming. It keeps their interest. I highly recommend it. It is one of my favorites too. :-)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Cutest book ever! Review: I believe this is a great story for children. I think the children will really be able to identify with the competitive nature of the rabbits and the characters are very lovable. The extents that the rabbits will go through to show their love is entertaining for all ages and having the story come from the perspective of a youngster makes it all the more relatable for children.. The concept of having this sort of a loving relationship with another is easily accessible for children and something children should be exposed to. Children will be able to understand the simple theme and will be captivated by the characters, the illustrations, and the humorous plot.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Can't keep my daughter's attention Review: As much as I love this book it can't keep my daughter's attention. I even read it to her in the womb. I had heard when you do this the book you read will often be your child's favorite. It was not true with my daughter. While I find the book calming and sweet, my 17 month old just finds it boring and I have to fight to keep her in my lap when we read it. I have given up and hope she will come to love it as she gets a little older.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Not competetive Review: This is a sweet, loving introduction to a familiar game that many parents have played with their child. I can't see it as being about competition. Perhaps some of the negative reviewers never played the game of "Guess how much I love you". But it was a natural part of childhood for my children. It wasn't about competition, it was about creativiity--thinking of ways of expressing love bigger than ever before. I wouldn't dream of trying to "oneup" my children. I just liked the silly answers we would come up with in playing. To all the naysayers, the last line of the book is ALL about letting the child "win". The father waits until the child is asleep in the assurance he has come up with the unbeatable answer, "I Love you all the way to the moon!" But as he sleeps and the father looks at this bundle of miracle that has been bestowed upon him he says what he feels, "I love you all the way to the moon, and back". The child doesn't hear this. The father is just expressing a love he can't even define it's so big. That's not competetive or mean spirited, it's a wonderfully realistic portrayal of having a feeling of love so big that you know there is nothing bigger. The pictures are great. I wouldn't go board book. This book is better for older children. Buy it and enjoy it.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Loving Story Review: I purchased this book when my daughter was about 9 mos old before I read any reviews on-line. I purchased it based on the title when I saw it in a store. After all, what better question to pose to someone and display your feelings for that person. That is what this book is all about. Showing and sharing your love with another. At first, my daughter would sit still for the entire story as I patted each page alternatately to maintain her attention. As she reached 12 - 15 mos, she would want to turn the page before we were finished, so I used the motions in the book to play with her while telling/reading the story. It worked she absolutely LOVES this book (she is now 22 mos old and has asked for this book every night since then). I tug at her ear when Little Nutbrown Hair tugs at Big Nutbrown Hair's ears. She will even tug at her own ear when we reach that page. I tickle her toes when Little Nutbrown Hair turns upside down to reach waaayyy up the tree with his toes. I bounce her up and down (gently so as to not excite her since we read this at bedtime), spread her arms then my arms to match the extent of each Nutbrown Hair's love. She thoroughly enjoys this book. And the end is very true and very precious. How much do I love you? "Right up to the moon - - - and back' I whisper to her and gently kiss her cheek. An excellent snuggleing book and one to share your love with your little one.
