This touching tale brings tears to my eyes each time I read it to them. The illustrations are beautiful, and the way Little Nut Brown Hare looks up to Big Nut Brown Hare is heartwarming. It reminds me of Francine Poppo Rich's book, "Why Can't I Spray Today?" in which a little skunk asks his parents that question, and trusts his parents' response implicitly. I would recommend "Guess How Much I Love You" - actually, both books - to anyone!

I've read it a gazillion times, and I still get a lump in my throat at the end. It makes a wonderful book for new parents to share with their babies!I'm a bit perplexed by those who find this book demoralizing to children. I read it as a good-natured romp between a father and son where the son admires his father has a hero. My children and I often play the "but I love YOU more" game, and it goes until somebody finally gets to "infinity," and then ends with some giggles.

Great to make up your own versions to be added onto. A truely wonderful book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Touching Review: This is a fabulous book that describes the love between Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare. I started reading this book to my daughter when she was about 5 years old. A couple of years later, she read it to me. Over the years, we've used the phrase,"Guess How Much I Love You" about a million times. A favorite game we play, is to try to out do the other, on how much we love one another. My reply is always, "To Infinity." It's hard for children to understand how deeply we love them, but this book does a great job illustrating this love.

I had to go back to work when he was 3 months old. She gave it to me one weekend and I sat and read it and just started crying. It was when I read that last line--I love you all the way to the moon and back--that really touched me. It made me realize how much I was missing my baby boy during the day. I also noticed that Big Nutbrown Hare waits until the little one is asleep to say the last line. That also reflects how much a parent loves a child. He would never want to outdo his baby just because he's bigger. He let Little Nutbrown Hare go to sleep thinking he won that little game. What a sweet, sweet story.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A wonderful story Review: I bought this book for my sister when she was born. She and I have enjoyed it ever since. I think people who see this as a competative story miss the point. As children, it can be difficult to understand just how deeply our parents (and siblings, in my case) love us. In this story, the big hare shows the depth of his love and in the end allows the little hare to believe that his love is 'greater.' Yet, it also shows children that the big hare's love for the little hare is much deeper than the little hare comprehends.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not What I Look For In A Baby Book Review: I have always enjoyed the book Guess How Much I Love You and thus ordered the baby book for our new child. The book is very traditional and although I enjoy the illustrations and the story lines, I was dissapointed with it as a baby book. There is not even a space for any religious ceremonies, like baptism. The space for a birth announcement is extremely small, and there is not even a space for Baby's First Haircut. It also leaves little room for creativity, pictures and adding your own baby memories. I ended up ordering another baby book.
