Review: this book is so simple..yet moving..I bought it for my son's 12th birtday-he said it's for babies..but I am hoping he will save it for his children.."Guess how much I love you" really captures the special beauty and bond between mother and child..either human or rabbit! It's just so precious..and sweet!

Summary: Beautiful!
Review: I don't have any children of my own, but I absolutely love to share this book with people I love, young and old. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a short book to share with someone they care about.

Summary: Guess How Much I Love You
Review: When I first presented this book to my daughter she was disappointed that it wasn't the one she wanted. However, after the first page she was hooked. The characters were lovable, and engaging enough for even a 3 year old like mine. It is the perfect naptime/bedtime book. This book will be read over and over, and we love it "all the way to the moon and back".

Summary: Love unlimited - a powerful message for children
Review: I was browsing through the children's department of my favorite local bookstore, looking for a gift, when this title caught my eye. I settled down on the floor for a read, and fell in love.

Big Nutbrown Hare is getting ready to put Little Nutbrown Hare to sleep for the night, when Little challenges him to guess how much he loves him. Little stretches his arms wide and says, "This much!" Big stretches his arms even wider and returns the love. Little keeps finding bigger and bigger ways to express his love for Big, and each time, Big outdoes him by virtue of his greater size. Finally, Little has to stop and ponder, and then triumphantly claims that his love for Big goes "all the way to the moon." That's a lot, Big concedes, and satisfied, Little settles down to sleep - and misses Big's whisper that he loves him "to the moon and back."

For children anxious about being loved, I can't think of a better story to illustrate how limitless their parents' love really is. No matter how much you love me, Big is saying, I love you that much and more. A comforting message, and one that Little can sleep on.

One of the things that makes this book unusual is that both hares are male. There is no lack of books about the love of mothers for their children, but Daddy-love is harder to find. I love the message here.

The pen and watercolor illustrations are wonderful. The animals are perfectly drawn - not cutesy, not cartoony, they are big rangy hares, with remarkably expressive faces. No cute little fluffola bunnies here...

I recommend this book as a valuable addition to your children's library.

Summary: Sweet and true
Review: I love this book. I discovered it when I was pregnant with my first child, who is now almost three, and I still get teary-eyed every time I read it. There are so few books that address the loving relationship between fathers and sons, especially for very young children. If there's a father in your child's life, this book is a must.

Summary: I love you.......a book and a parent/child game
Review: This is a very sweet book! My son's and I think up many more "I love you" challenges after we read this book. It's adorable how the parent keeps playing the game with the child, but in the end, lets the child fall asleep with the last "I love you to the moon". Only after the child is asleep does the parent say "I love you to the moon and back". This shows the incredible love this bunny has for his offspring. I gave a 4 star only because I also found the long name tedious to keep saying over and over. I love this book and will add it to our family library!

Summary: Very Hard to Read Aloud
Review: I found this book to be very hard to read aloud. The constant repitition of "Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare" is very tiresome and a real tongue-twister. Runaway Bunny is a similiar book and much easier to read.

Summary: This book is toooooooo cute!
Review: What a heartwarming story to read to your loved one. My husband and I have been reading this book to our 8mo. old son for months. He just loves it, the illustrations are so cute I only wish I could find the stuffed version of these 2 rabbits. I'm certain my son would love them.

BUY THIS BOOK FOR YOUR CHILD!

Summary: The father hare isn't a good example of unconditional love
Review: I am disappointed to see this book so frequently being compared to other loving "classics." It bothers me that, instead of accepting the little hare's love, the father hare feels compelled to always top what the little hare has just said. I can think of many other books (I Love You, Stinky Face and Love You Forever, to name two) that are much more deserving of the critical praise which this book has received.

Summary: Great if you change the ending, dreadful if you don't
Review: The first time I read this book to my son, I was getting steadily annoyed as the book progressed. The "father" hare is constantly trumping his "son's" love. By the end of the book, I was incensed. If you are a parent and like the way this book ends, I suggest that you are unable to comprehend the love your child gives to you. But wait - I didn't rate this a 1 star. I have a solution. Don't read the last page - stop at the good night kiss. Then you will have a book you can truly enjoy. My son and I do. The illustrations are lovely. If you skip the last page, the challenges continuously posed by Big Nutbrown Hare become a mind-freeing experience for Little Nutbrown Hare and he reaches a wonderful epiphany that both can share. And then you can appreciate the mutual love of parent and child. But I warn you again. With the last page, this book is dreadful.
