Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I am so excited I found this book! I love reading and wanted my son to get the same appreciation for books I have. This book lets him learn to love books and see children and animals nursing! I want to nurse my son for an extended time and it is hard to find encouragement and this book gives me and my son the view of other nursinglings. Thank you so much!!

Rating: Summary: Sweet concept, so-so execution Review: I want to fully support anything that normalizes or promotes nursing, but I was disappointed in this book. I think the art is pretty awful. (Leopards, I'm sure, would be insulted by their poorly draw depiction.) Some of the text is interesting, such as a description of the baby elephant using it trunk to hug the mother while it nurses. However, other text is just a desription of the picture, such as "a baby lama nurses at sunset." I wish the book had been better done.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Book but WHY is it not in Board Book Format? Review: Kid + book = a torn, dirty book, when they're too young to know better. I LOVE this book, but my 17 month old still chews and tears the pages of his books, so for now, we can't have this one at home for him. PLEASE, authors and publishers--make this one a board book, soon! I want my son to know the beauty of this book, while he is still a nursling.
Rating: Summary: Good toddler book, sweet and educational Review: My 16-month-old son is intrigued by this book. He is still nursing, and he didn't realize that other animals nurse, too. It is a sweet, educational book that has become a bedtime favorite (followed by nightie nursing, of course). My one complaint: the illustrations, while colorful, lack detail. I would prefer that they show animal udders, etc. And the human baby on the last page appears to have a hunchback!
Rating: Summary: My son's now a nursing monkey! Review: The pictures are a little primitive, and the book would be better as a board book, but my son loves this book. At first he was not interested in it. But once I explained that all the animals were nursing, he caught on. He gets a kick out of the fact that animals nurse like him. I use sign language with my son, though he is hearing, and he began using the sign for monkey when he wanted to nurse, because he likes the nursing monkey in the beginning of the book. I'll ask him if he wants to be a nursing monkey and he smiles. He'll also put his arms around me, like the monkeys in the book, and he'll hug me while nursing. He only nurses like this when he feels like being a monkey. Another great book that I found is, "I am Made of Mama's Milk". I just found this great board book written from the perspective of a nursing toddler. The author is Mary Olsen. My 18 month old son loves the photos and the beautiful verse. We read it about 10 times at every sitting. You can check it out [online]. I just wanted to spread the word. I think this is the only breastfeeding board book I've seen. It is wonderful!

Rating: Summary: One of my daughter's favorite books--and mine too Review: This book is beautifully done. The pictures are simple and done in bold colors. A variety of animals are shown nursing and, at the end, a human mama and baby say, "We like to nurse." My daughter (11 months old) reaches for this book over and over again, which is the true test of a book! I wish it came in a board book, however, as we already have some tape on the pages, attesting to how much it is loved!
Rating: Summary: adorable book Review: This is a sweet little book for a nursing toddler. We love it in our house and there are no longer any nurslings. Cute, colorful and adorable.
