This touching book covers so many obstacles other mom's have experienced and sharing ways they hope to help others who may experience similar situations. These "Mom's" have been there and survived, and are saying so can you. Motherhood is an education of loving, sharing, and learning, Ms. Menna's book reflects just that. Her book is one of loveing support, understanding, and gentle advice from other Mom's who care about the well being of other new mom's and their babies. So Mom's sit back, relax, and happy reading, you'll be glad you took the time!
Rating: Summary: A so-so "manual" Review: A little disappointing. I wwas hoping for somthing closer in substance to "what to expect when you're expecting", etc. & that kind of thing but no such luck. Oh well!
Rating: Summary: Thanks Mary Jeanne Menna! Review: As someone planning on becoming a new mom, I found this book to be highly encouraging and a wonderful resource book. I am sure that I will refer to this book again & again when I have my baby, and I plan to share this book with all the new moms I know! This book is very different from most baby books on the market today. By using the advice of hundreds of moms, it provides a refreshing approach to a wide range of subjects on baby care.I found a lot of good practical tips as well as some pretty amusing stories. I would highly recommend this book!

Rating: Summary: A little put off by the sleep "help..." Review: I am a parent who does not believe in letting a child cry it out. One problem I have with this book is that the author only includes "helpful" insight from moms who do practice the cry it out method. I would have liked some encouraging words and insight from moms who, like me, believe in picking up and comforting my child when she is upset.Other than that, this book is a decent resource.
Rating: Summary: Great Baby Tips for the New Moms Review: I found this book helpful and insightful. What's great is that the book is a compilation of what other mothers are doing. If something doesn't work, you can go back and try someone else's suggestion.

Rating: Summary: A perfect book for all new moms.....and Dads Review: I found this book to be one that should be a must read for all new moms...and Dads. The different chapters range from feeding to bathing to diapering to child proofing your home to traveling and so on. Some of the tips and advice are so simple, that I wonder why I didn't think of that. Yet, some are things that I would have never thought of. I have even made my husband spend time looking thru it as we adjust to being new parents. ( By the way, he was most interested it the chapter "Fizzle to Sizzle, You and Your Spouse" translation being, getting back in the groove for sex ). But seriously, the book's tips and advice are helping him feel more confident around our little girl, instead of freaking out and not knowing what to do or how to do it. In short, I think this book has so much useful information that it should be read by both new moms and new dads. Thank you Mary Jeanne for making this book available to us.
Rating: Summary: good companion book Review: I found this to be a good companion book to the other big books. Not a lot of medical information, but lots of good tips and stories of what other moms experienced. Nice.
Rating: Summary: Best Baby Shower Gift Review: I loved this book....it makes the greatest baby shower gift. I always relied on the advice from my girlfriends over most of the material I read and this book is just that. Most books assume you've covered the basics and really as a new mom I didn't even know some of the simple stuff like swaddling. I've given this book to pregnant friends already. I especially like the colic information. My first baby had colic and most people just assume this is something you just have live through....I wish I'd had some of these tips then.
