Summary: Not as helpful as I would have hoped
Review: As I began this book I had hoped to get information about the causes, treatments and dietary advice for someone diagnosed with hypoglycemia. I was disappointed that this was not the information I felt the book delivered. The book failed the reader in explaining hypoglycemia. It provided alot of antecdotal evidence to support its claims. In addition much of its advice was undoable by the average person - it included suggestions to use only full spectrum light, avoid the use of microwave ovens, eat only fertile eggs and drink only raw milk. I am eager to control my hypoglycemia but couldn't help but wonder at the validity of much of this advice.

Summary: Someone FINALLY Understands !
Review: Hypoglycemia is very misunderstood amongst the medical community. It is just not taken as seriously as perhaps it should be. I think hundreds of people are misdiagnosed, and reading a book like this is exactly what the doctors and those who suffer from this need.

I have been suffering from hypoglycemia for as long as I can remember -- going through changes and visiting doctors. I have been treated for nearly everything stated in the book at one time or another.

Now, that *I* understand and have shared this book with my doctor, I am FINALLY on my way to a better, more functional life.

Summary: Hypoglycemia, The Classic Healthcare Handbook
Review: I bought this book in hopes of being able to read it through with the teenage boy (14) that had recently been diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. The sheer panic that set in when he went into a seizure initially from this disease scared all of us. I wanted to be able to sit down with Albert and have this be a book that would both answer some questions and additionally invoke questions to be answered.

I initially had Albert read this on his own...he was completely lost, as I would have been at 14 years of age. This was something that I should have and would suggest to parents/friends in the future, to make sure they do...read it first.

Initially it seemed that there was alot of life changing activites that evolved surrounding this event. Gradually, however, it turned into something that was workable and livable with an extremly active 14 year old.

I would recommend this book to those who wish to get a quick education on hypoglycemia.

Review: I did not find the information in this book helpful. I am a newly diagnosed Type II diabetic and I couldn't believe all the restrictions.

I would recommend the book, "The Insulin Resistance Diet", by Cheryle R. Hart, M.D. and Mary Kay Grossman, R.D. This book made sense.

Summary: This book is for everyone!
Review: I love this book! If you suffer from hypoglycemia and/or have a weight problem, read this book. Actually, it should be read by everyone. I'm trying the Vim and Vigor diet that is suggested in the book and I already feel different. I don't feel like I'm in a fog or sluggish. Getting your blood sugar level makes a big difference and can help everyone. It is true that there is a lot of resistance by doctors to believe in this condition and I have had the displeasure of meeting a few of them. I wish all doctors would read this book.

Summary: BEST Healthbook EVER Written !
Review: If you are SERIOUSLY interested in living a longer, healthier, more productive & happier life [or if you know someone else who would be] - read this book ASAP!

Don't let the title fool you. This book is not just for hypoglycemics. It is for anyone that has ANY health problem, physical & neurological.

If you are hypoglycemic / suspect you might be, "The Classic Healthcare Handbook" will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know to diagnose & treat this often undiagnosed, insidious health problem that many "experts" says doesn't exist! I can tell you that it is indeed very real, and it can make your life a "living hell".

"Hypoglycemia" gives the most compelling reasons yet why we need to eat truly healthy foods (including animal-based & derived protein) and why we need to eliminate ALL of the "supermarket scams" & "fast-food frauds" from our diets if we are to ever be truly free of the diseases that plague our society.

The author (Jeraldine Saunders) tells of her real-life tragedy that took her daughter's life at a very early age due to medical ignorance & arrogance. This paves the way for describing the dibilitating effects of hypoglycemia - and how it affects nearly 50% of all Americans, wreaking havoc on their physical & mental health, thus robbing them of the joy of living.

Being a hypoglycemic & the owner of a "true" vitamin / nutrition store, I can honestly say this book has already made a huge impact on my life - and I know it will on yours too!

If you have a child that has ADD / ADHD, you will almost certainly find "the cause & the cure" in this excepetional work.

You may want to buy several copies of this life-changing book to give to family, friends, neighbors, etc. It may just save their lives.

Summary: Exellent Book!
Review: There seems to be some disagreement in the reviews of the validity of this book. The foundation of this great book is the over "sugarization" of the American diet that is truly causing havoc to American health. I understand her positions on free range chickens, full spectrum light etc to get the most healthful food product. IMHO that is just a bit beyond the average busy person's time/tolerance for food shopping and preparation. The greatest value by far of this book is it's exposure of hypoglycemia as a serious health problem and its excellent breakdown of how to properly interpret the results of the glucose tolerance test. The disorder of hypoglycemia goes beyond "just having low sugar". Hypoglycemia ties to and creates a very large number of health and personality problems and this book documents that fact exceedingly well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is overweight, diabetic (or going there),is depressed, has anxiety attacks, or just plain intersted in understanding why low carb is so popular and why it works.
