All the assignments can be done with very little money involved for the whole curriculum; most are materials already found in the home. The activities are simple enough for young preschoolers and are fun for both parents and children.

Review: When my three-year-old was begging to learn to read, this book was a godsend. (Most teaching materials are, understandably, for children 5+.) The author uses games and activites to teach phonics. Simply having someone tell me a good order in which to introduce each sound and suggest a way to have fun with them was all I needed. For me and my son, this book was a perfect fit.
