Summary: A must read!
Review: I just finished reading My Brother's Keeper by Reshonda Tate Billingsley and I must say I am impressed. For a first time author, Reshonda did an excellent job. The characters were so real and many of the issues really hit home. These were people that you see everyday or may even be friends with. I love how Reshonda explored the thoughts and feelings of each character. The climax was one that I never expected to happen. The book held my attention the entire way through. I read the book in one day!

Summary: Excellent book!!!!
Review: I just finished this novel and I loved it. I am already looking forward to more books by this author that I could read. It is hard to believe that this is her first novel. I honestly could not put it down. She is an excellent writer and I wish that she had another book already completed so that I could jump into another one. "My Brother's Keeper" makes you feel the characters......I could relate to the relationship between Aja and Charles...She hit some really good points in this novel....it is just an excellent book......

Summary: Tell everyone you know about this book! It's GREAT!
Review: I read alot and when I come across a good book, I beleive in spreading the word and this is definitely a book I will be spreading the word about. This story is so fascinating. It's heartbreaking, funny, unpredictable, just every emotion imaginable. This is no ordinary abuse book, it looks at how deep wounds can run. Although Aja was the main character, I felt so sorry for Eric. You could tell his struggles and I was so hoping he would overcome them. I definitely want to see a sequel on this because I cant wait to find out what happens! I will be watching for when the author's next book comes out because she is now ranked among my favorites! By the way....this would make a great movie!

Summary: Excellent Read
Review: I received a review copy of My Brother's Keeper and read it in two days. A well written novel about domestic violence and how it affects the family. The author shows how a once happy family can become an abused one. It's about forgiveness, but you can't release the pain and be happy and at peace until you do.My emotions went from being sad, angry, happy and holding my breath. I felt sorry for the abuser at the end. I'm recommending this novel to my book club.

Summary: excellent, stupendous, marvelous
Review: I recommend this book for everyone to read. i am telling yall this book is so good. its number 1 and i have to say that its one of the best books that i have read. I keep it real when it comes to writing reviews, because people need to at least get an ideal of what you are reading and know something about it. and I dont think that this book got all of its props. She needs to be high profile cuz she deserves it.Its a page turner from beginning to end.

Summary: Neglect and Abuse
Review: I've heard tell of this book so I wanted to check it out for myself. Sorry gang! This book wasn't all that. It is a story that has be told time and time and time after time again. Sure, it opens with a bang. It has to in order to reel you in and keep you reading. Everyone has gone through some sort of abuse and/or neglect at one time or another. If I read another book on neglect and abuse, it'll be too soon. I just can't take another AA novel on this subject. Instead of hearing from fresh voices, we need to hear some fresh stories, in keeping with a touch of reality! From the title of her next novel, "Let the Church Say Amen," it may be a copycat of "Church Folks." I hope not, but I'll look forward to reading it.

Summary: CALLING RANDOM HOUSE, DOUBLEDAY AND OTHERS!!!!
Review: If ever there was a book that the big pubishers needed to know about this is it. I recently picked up a copy of this book in the independently published section of a bookstore and after reading it, I can't understand why some big publisher hasn't jumped on this! IT WAS GREAT!!! The story moved quickly and kept my interest throughout, which is not an easy task. I loved the main characters and well as the secondary ones as well. Not only was I thoroughly entertained, but I even walked away learning a thing or two about forgiveness. I definitely think this is an author we'll be hearing much about. Bring on the next book!!!!

Summary: A Sad Reality
Review: It was hard to believe this was a debut novel, the writing was just that good. This was a hauntingly sad story of how domestic violence/abuse destroyed a family. Aja, Eric and Jada witnessed something so tragic it sent one to a mental institution, one to the bottle and one struggling to maintain balance for everyone.

Aja James is a survivor, the oldest of three siblings she believed it was her duty to make life better for her brother and sister. But as she watched Eric, she

wondered if history would repeat itself and she knew time was running out. Still, how could she help them when she too could not forgive or forget? Aja was so committed to saving them, she is ready to put her life on hold. When she meets handsome sportscaster Charles Clayton, she is shocked to know that she can't love him because her heart is too full of hate.

This was an exceptionally written story about a sad reality. It left you sitting quietly, feeling the pain of a yesterday that the three could not erase. My heart ached for Aja, Eric and Jada, because they each suffered with their own personal demon as they struggled to live just one more day. Ms Billingsley should indeed take a bow for this one and she should poise the pen for another.
