Summary: MIRACULOUS - It works!
Review: When my son was born I joined a "mommy support group". By coincidence, about half of us read this book and used the method and the other half chose the attachment method. Now our children are 12 months old, and a perfect stranger would be able to tell which children were raised with the "Self-calming" method.

The self-calmed babies are cheerful and well-rested. They are independent and outgoing and excellent nappers. By contrast, the "attachment" babies are often whiny and clingy, and the mommies lives are totally manipulated by their children. I can't tell you how often the attachment families have had to miss out on fun activities like the zoo or the pool because their children had a lousy night the night before.

Our self-calming babies sleep through the night and wake cheerful and ready for a full day of learning and fun. Best of all, this method worked for EVERYONE who followed it. A 100% success rate in our mommygroup!

I began helping my son self-soothe at about 2 weeks. By 10 weeks old, he was sleeping from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and by 16 weeks he dropped the 10 oclock feeding and would sleep from 8 to 8. I can lay him down anywhere and he knows how to settle. He never whines or fusses about a bedtime or a nap. Due to this method, I never have to turn down an invitation for him because "we're having a cranky day" or "he's tired". Because he is well rested, I believe he is healthier and more active.

THANK YOU, Mr. Sammons, for your helpful method. If you like this book, you'll love "On Becoming Babywise" by pediatrician Dr. Robert Bucknam.

Summary: The best information, because it works!!!!!!
Review: When you read the negative reviews on this book notice that it is the parents point of view, and that is the wrong world to be in , it's about your baby and what is best for them. Our son sleeps 12 hours each night from 7 to 7 and started at 6 weeks. He will sleep at any location with no help , rocking ,sucking noise etc. And of all our friends with babies he is the only one that does this , I wish We could take the credit , but he has done all the learning. So as you read the people who say this is all wrong, it just may be that they need a good nights sleep.
