Rating: Summary: Some good ideas Review: Build Your Child's Self Esteem offers 365 ways to affirm and encourage a child. Some of the ideas are good but others seem simplistic and idealistic such as "Put positive mottoes up in your child's room and he can learn them by heart."
Rating: Summary: Small Book Packed with Great Ideas Review: This is a great book for moms of young and grade-school aged children. As a mom, I often don't have enough time to read heavy and involved books. This book is broken up into 365 days with a great idea to build your child's self-esteem every day. Also, as a busy mom, it is much simplier for me to concentrate on one way to build my child's self-esteem rather than try to pack a book of knowledge into one day or week of my child's life. The ideas are simple, practical, and easy to incorporate into your daily life. One idea that I plan to begin yearly is writing a letter to put in my children's Christmas stocking that expresses appreciation for the person they are, for the growth and progress they have had during the year, and the combination of mental, social, spiritual, and physical qualities I am thankful for.
