Rating: Summary: Great Book!!! Review: ...I loved this book because it works! I'm not overly "religious" but think that the bible has a lot of insights to help in raising our kids. Thank you Scott & Joanne for pulling those insights together and putting them into a book that is an easy read with practical steps to apply the concepts to everyday life! My house is a better place to live because of this book. I now know that frustration and anger are God-given but it's how they manifest themselves in my daily life that is the key.

Rating: Summary: Best Book on Disciplining Children on the market! Review: As an experienced parent of three and a special education teacher, I've read lots of books on getting children to behave! And if I do say so myself, I'm pretty good at managing behavior. But, over the years, I've discovered that changing behaviors isn't enough, you have to help kids change the underlying attitudes that contribute to the misbehavior. This book does that in a masterful way! The respectful tone and great parenting skills presented in "Good and Angry" were a huge help to me as an experienced parent. I wish I had this book years ago. This book will help you raise happy, well-adjusted adults, not just well-behaved kids! This is my choice for a Baby Shower gift every time!
Rating: Summary: Getting to the Heart of the Matter Review: As the mother of seven children, ages 1 to 13, I have read many parenting books, both secular and religious. Good and Angry is one of those rare books that offers the right blend of theory and practice. Turansky and Miller offer sound parenting advice based on solid biblical principles of mutual respect, kindness, and a proper view of authority. Beware -- this is not a quick fix book! Rather than focusing on changing behavior through a series of manipulations or oppressive authority, Good and Angry goes to the heart of the matter -- the need for parents to examine their own hearts and responses, to control their anger and re-direct it to positive interactions with their children. I especially appreciate the emphasis on teaching children to deal with their own anger, a skill which is mostly learned by example. Because it deals with matters of the heart, Good and Angry helps bring about lasting change in families -- a worthy goal and one from which all family members benefit.
Rating: Summary: A very practical parenting resource! Review: Good and Angry is a very practical approach to a universal parenting struggle. It should be at the top of your list if you want a family with more peace, honor and respect and less tension, manipulation, arguing and frustration. The book deals not just with helping children identify and deal with their own anger, but also with constructive solutions to our own anger as parents. Each chapter concludes with questions and review, which makes the book very easy to use for reading and discussion groups. The book is written from an unashamedly Christian viewpoint, but the concepts are so universal and practical that I would recommend it to all.

Rating: Summary: A must read! Review: I am a grandmother and wish I knew of this book when I was parenting! In a culture that seems to have lost the real meaning of parenting--to raise a future generation of well-adjusted, productive, and loving people--this is an awesome book and a must-have for every parent's bookshelf. Please, for the sake of our children, our children's children...read and share with family and friends parenting skills based on the solid foundation of truth.
