Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful blurbs from Hope Edelman and the Betty Ford Center Review: "MY MAMA'S WALTZ fills what was a noticeably empty spot int he literature of loss, addressing what Eleanor Agnew and Sharon Robideaux evocatively reveal to be the specific issues and concerns of daughters made motherless by alcoholism. This book gives a voice to the millions of women whose stories of survival deserve to be told."--Hope Edelman, author of MOTHERLESS DAUGHTERS "What makes this book remarkable is the authors' willingness to grapple with the love, hope, disappointment, fear, and humiliation women whose mothers are alcoholic experience. Eleanor Agnew and Sharon Robideaux have done the research and then listened with an understanding heart to the voices of women struggling to understand. They then wrote a book that is wise, warm, and refrains from proposing simple solutions to complex issues."--Nancy Waite-O'Brien, Ph.D., Director, Psychological Services, The Betty Ford Center

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Healing words Review: I have not even finished this book yet, but already I feel like I'm healing. My mother was an alcoholic (now dry), her mother was an alcoholic, and I used to drink heavily myself. It's shedding light on some of my tendencies (trying to bend over backwards to please everyone, feeling abandoned by my mom at times, and so on). It also explains to me some of her behaviors and why she has anger lingering in her life and how it affects her still. Very insightful.

As a person in recovery 7 yrs and now a mom, this book solidified my sobriety to see what a burden an alcoholic mother can be to a child. Thank You.
