Summary: Definitely worth a try
Review: I started this diet last month and in five weeks have lost 18 lbs. I feel great and am looking better everyday, and I haven't even started exercising yet. This diet is simple, there is no food weighing or calorie counting. A different title may have been more appropriate (as many people seem to be offended or turned off by the title, judging from previous reviews), but fortunately I was able to get past the title and give it an honest try. It is much healthier than I had been eating and, unlike a fad diet, does not totally eliminate or severely limit any food group. It's very easy when used as a guide to develop a balanced and satisfying eating plan. It's not dependent upon expensive prepared foods or even costlier supplements but it's certainly working for me.

Summary: Great Idea, but needs a little work
Review: I think you have found the diet Goldmine. We just need a list of the healthiest way's to make and prepare all of God's food's including the healthiest wine's on the market. Healthiest Bread's on the market. But anyway's she is a genius. I believe the other lady that said wine is God's food to and Bread. As long as it is not overprocessed. No I haven't bought the book. But I will. Thank You God for Your Wonderful Blessing's of Common Sense Eating. Throw Away The Scales and Junk. But I have to admit I need a good substitute for sugar. I am a sugar addict. Please help us there too.

Summary: Short, Simple, Healthy AND Effective!!
Review: I was looking for a simple, doable and healthy eating regimen that I could follow for the rest of my life. This is IT!

God's Diet is easily summed up in less than 20 words. 'If God made it, you can eat it. No sugar, no white flour, low salt and no fried foods.' Dr. Gault-McNemee explains the medical rationale for each facet of the simple plan in plain English, and it just makes good sense. The program allows you to eat all of the meat, fruit, and vegetables you want.

This book is not based on Bible law. It is called "God's Diet" to acknowledge God as the Creator of all things natural and healthy for human consumption.

I've been on the plan for about six weeks and have lost ten pounds without ever feeling hungry or seriously deprived. The program WORKS! Best of all, I've never felt better!

Summary: Try it -- it works!
Review: I was unsure at first also, but I actually tried the diet. She is right on the money! Cutting out the processed sugars and pasta does an incredible thing, it cuts out my desire for any of that stuff. All of my sweet tooth cravings dissappeared. Within three weeks, my first thought of the day, stopped being, whats for breakfast!! Anyone needing to lose weight should consult their dr and really consider this diet. It becomes a no brainer and a way of life!! Awesome!

Summary: It Really Works!!
Review: I woke up one day and stepped on the scale and when it showed that I was closely approaching 200 lbs, it scared me to death. I knew I had to do something. I had never started any diets because all of them restricted what I could eat and most were made up of vegetables which I hate. I went online and read into the Atkin's Diet. I took a quiz on their site which told me that I was addicted to Carbs and Sugar and it was affecting my health, my well being and my sanity. I went to the library but I couldn't find the Atkins book. The title, "God's Diet" caught my attention. I decided a little help from up above couldn't hurt and I took it home. When I read it I was happy that it wasn't filled with bible quotes and that it was easy to read. I read more into it and I was surprised at how I was poisoning my body with all the chemicals in processed foods. I said, That's it, I am not eating any of that stuff ever again. That was in April 2003. It is now October and I am still following the diet. Exactly 6 months later and I feel awesome. I have lost almost 50 pounds and 6 pant sizes. No joking! I don't care about how she's not following the bible. I am a Catholic who attends church weekly. God is my friend. He has helped me so much and I know that it was He who put this book in front of me at the library. I don't need anyone to tell me what I should and should not eat. All I needed was a little advice. Everyone in my family has told me how proud they are of me and how there is no way they could give up bread and pasta and soda. I tell them that it is easy when you can have steak and mashed potatoes and eggs. It doesn't feel like you are suffering. I have not been hungry once. I eat brown rice, chicken, potatoes, eggs, bacon, beef, salad, all kinds of fruits, beans and nuts. I can have seafood I just don't like it. I ended up purchasing the book because of all the people who kept asking me to borrow it. I feel like a walking advertisement. I am still not at my ideal weight but I know that I can be there and soon. All I need to do is continue the diet and exercise and drink lots of water. I feel that this is something that I can continue for the rest of my life. I used to be addicted to things like Oreos and Ice Cream and Chocolate. Now I am addicted to sunflower seeds, and peanuts and grapes. Those are my munchies now. There is no portion control with this diet. As long as you follow the principle, "If God Didn't make it, then don't eat it!" you will be fine. This book is a little pricey for its size but I highly recommend it. If you don't want to purchase it then look for it in the library. It is so easy that all you need to do is read through it once and you won't have to read it again. One thing that helped a lot was some advice that was in the book, if someone offers you a food that you know you can't have, don't say, " I can't eat that." instead say "I don't eat that anymore." There is a big difference. I have to admit that it was hard at first especially since I live with 6 other people and none of them are following it with me. If you just believe in yourself you can do this too. Another thing, I lost 50 pounds without exercise! Yes you read that right, NO EXERCISE!! Even though the author does recommend exercise, I just never got around to it and I still lost weight. I just recently started doing sit ups and crunches so that I can get rid of my sagging belly. So I am just going to try and tone up but the diet gets rid of everything else. I look at my before and after pictures and I am amazed that that person was me.

Summary: On the other hand........
Review: I've been there, done that. Carbs, in any form, are a menace to any weight-reducing diet...don't eliminate them, but be really moderate! Meat, fresh fruit, vegetables. It's simple, you don't need a book.

Summary: It works!
Review: I've lost 50 pounds in 5 months. What else can I say? (I only gave it 4 stars because Dr. G's writing is not that good.) But the diet itself is incredible. This is something that can easily be a lifelong nutritional plan, with a full variety of fruit, vegetables and meats. And it's so simple it could almost go onto a single page. It worked for me, so maybe it will for you, too. Give it a shot.

Summary: An Erroneous Diagnosis...
Review: I've only read the review article, and already have a migraine. Her premise is one should only eat foods that grow from the ground or can be killed - i.e., natural vs. human-made. She even excludes alcohol and bread, presumably on the assumption that fermentation (a natural process around long before humans) renders these products as unnatural. Yet, in her sample menus, she advises consuming cheese, butter, and sour cream, all items derived (quite naturally) through fermentation.

I'm especially dismayed that with her being a doctor, this contradiction exists at all, let alone in a promotional article. I prescribe a healthy dose of skepticism before taking her advice.

Summary: Simply Great!
Review: I've participated in several weight loss programs, but have never found one as easy to follow or as simple to stick with. The title caught my eye, and I almost passed it up when I saw how thin the book is. But after glancing through it, I decided to give it a try. The recipes are easy and delicious, and after 5 months, I've lost 20 pounds -- Not an overnight success story, but since I'm not obsessed with food and dieting anymore, but with eating healthy and nutritious meals, I believe I'll reach my goal weight and be able to maintain it for years to come. I highly recommend this book, and also suggest reading the testimonial case studies included. Good luck!
