Rating: Summary: Get our of your baby daze and get this book! Review: Baby Days is a record of the author's life with her daughter Anna during their first three years together. Barbara Rowley has made a career out of devising great ways to have fun with kids. The terrific thing about this book is that it's organized by type of activity and age. What harried parent hasn't thought, "oh sure, finger painting is wonderful, but what I really need is something to keep her busy while I'm cooking dinner." That's where Baby Days comes in. There are chapters for leisurely morning activities, meal and naptime ideas, and even sections on what to do in the car or on the plane. Each chapter's activities are also grouped by age, so it's easy to find something that will work for you and your child. Add to that the "prep time" and "messiness quotient" listings and you've got a recipe for success! Best of all, many of the activities only require a little energy and imagination or items usually found around the house. There's truly something here for everyone. This book inspired me to set up a reading nook (it's SO much more fun to read in a tent while lounging on pillows!) create a special hideaway and an activity box and put together a craft cupboard, among many other things, big and small. If those long days at home have got you down, it's time to get out of the baby daze and get this book!
Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: Baby Days is a wonderful book. This book is packed full of activities, games, crafts and make your own toys I never would have thought of!And so easy. The book is broken up into sections to carry you through the day: morning, noon and night. There is even a "parent's only" section for baby's naptime. I loved this book and use ideas from it on a daily basis!
Rating: Summary: Creativity for Several Years Review: Baby Days starts the new parent off with activities for their new baby and continues giving ideas to occupy toddlers. The book offers many creative alternatives to television for those of us who aren't so creative ourselves. Her ideas are simple and easy to do, which is what I most appreciate about it. I have twins so I don't have alot of free time to create fancy playthings and crafts. The author reminds us that children find great delight in the simple things in life, like pretend cooking in the kitchen and helping Mom clean the house. Although not complex, I never would have thought of half this stuff myself! A great buy for new parents as well as a gift for expecting ones.

Rating: Summary: Difficult to use Review: Because the chapters are organized according to time of day rather than age group, I found the book difficult to use. I bought "Baby Days" to learn some activities I could do with my 3-month old twins. Most of the ideas are for older children, and I had to search the book rather extensively to find anything appropriate. I will keep the book as a reference to use when my girls are much older.
Rating: Summary: not worth the money Review: I bought this book based on the good reviews, but after reading it myself it's not worth the money. The activities she comes up with are too simple- fingerpaint or play ball. I thought of them on my own!! I was hoping for ideas that were not so obvious. She also has alot of ideas that use toothpicks?! not a toddler friendly item!!!

Rating: Summary: Living with a Two Year Old Review: I purchased this book to help me out with ideas for my two year old daughter. Although it had many ideas, I still found myself looking for more creative ways to entertain my daughter. I appreciated the fact that they put in a "messiness factor" for each of the projects/ideas for quick reference.

Rating: Summary: A great baby present! Review: I read this book in a day and have already tried several of Barbara Rowley's ideas. She has very practical and inspirational thoughts on raising a baby and making your home "kid-friendly". I loved it!
