Review: This book is a MUST read for anyone thinking about adopting from China or from anyone who has already adopted. It is beautifully written as you become one with the story and feel as if this is your own personal journey to your child. I felt the heartache and the joy every step of the way. Be sure to have kleenex on hand as you read. You will need them, even if you think, "Nah, I never cry over books". This one will get to you. DON'T PASS THIS ONE OVER!!! you won't be disappointed.

As a parent waiting for the referral of my daughter from China, I think this book is a valuable addition to my adoption library.

Review: This is a terrific story of a young mother's struggles to adopt a 3 year old from China after a nightmare of medical problems prevented her from having another child. Her determination to raise the necessary funds while also being a full time working wife and mom is inspiring. Having finally raised the money and waited the long year, Shannon's turn to travel to China to meet her new daughter Marlee arrives. Marlee turns out to be a very smart, funny little girl whose biggest concern in her life is the welfare of her best friend Chloe who is also 3 and is being adopted by another family at the same time. The love shown between these little girls will make you laugh and cry. This is a great book and should be read by everyone.

Review: This is a wonderfully written account of the many ups and downs of the adoption process. The Turners strength through their incredible journey to bringing Marlee home is so inspiring. Shannon's patience and determination, including the trip to China and the many adverse conditions they encountered was amazing! I have read many stories about the China adoption process so was familiar with most of what she wrote about but her first-hand account and detail really made my feel like I had been on the trip. All those interested in foreign adoption should definitely read this but have your Kleenex ready!

The Turner family experienced much heartache when they could not have a second child, but their hearts were healed when they adopted their precious daughter from China. The attention to detail is wonderful and the story comes to life as if the reader is right there in China. The author's sense of humor is amazing as she goes through difficult times, especially while traveling. It is inspiring to realize how one family has so dramatically changed the life of a little girl in an orphanage. I laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed the sweetness of Marlee. Highly recommended!
