Summary: Like peeking into a private diary...
Review: As a mother of a toddler, I have very little "extra" reading time. This book sat on my nightstand until I found an evening to dive into it. I was amazed at how quick a read it was for the thickness of the book. In just two evenings of reading I shared this author's heartache of infertility and her inspiring determination to have another child. I was awed at how she overcomes a multitude of obstacles in an effort to adopt. With a sense of being a traveling companion along on the journey to China, readers share Shannon and Marlee's intimate first days as mother and daughter. Anyone with a heart for children will laugh and cry at the interaction between Marlee and her best friend Chloe as they cling to the familiar in the face of the unknown. The emotional highs and lows kept me turning pages. I feel as though I have traveled across the world and back on this adoption adventure with the Turners. Like a personal journal that comes to a last entry on the last page, this book leaves the reader wanting to know "what happens tomorrow?..."

Summary: Amazing adoption story!
Review: I bought Shannon Turner's book, "Miracles for Marlee" and finished it in two days! I loved it! I was amazed at all of the trials that her family endured, and particularly those that Shannon herself endured, as they struggled to add a daughter to their family. Ms. Turner did an excellent job of pulling the reader into her experiences. She dealt with emotions ranging from utter despare to total elation, and I felt every one of them as I read the book!

I am also the parent of a beautiful daughter adopted from China, so much of the book brought back wonderful memories of our own experiences in bringing our child home. Many people ask me about what's involved with adopting internationally, and I will be sure to refer them to this book. You don't just jump on a plane and pick up a baby; it's a long, arduous, expensive process that ultimately ends in a miracle.

Kudos to Ms. Turner for telling her amazing story so eloquently!

Summary: Pure Joy to Read!
Review: I just finished my copy of Miracles for Marlee. I am not much of a sit down and read person, but this book moved me. I laughed, I cried, I felt like I was in China at times with Shannon when she got Marlee. As a soon to be adoptive parent of a baby girl from China this book helped me see from a parent's perspective all the emotions that go on. I would highly recommend this book, I have already loaned my copy to another adoptive mom!

Summary: A Must-Read!
Review: I love to read, but I never sit down and finish a book in one sitting. I started this book late one night and finished it in the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't stop reading about this incredible adventure that Shannon and her family went on to bring little Marlee home. I highly recommend this book for anyone adopting from or thinking of adopting from China. I also highly recommend this book for family members of those adopting from China to give them an idea of what their family is going through. I was inspired by Shannon and her story in many ways. She even inspired me to get into shape for our trip to China! Her descriptions are superb - you feel as if you are the journey with her every step of the way. My husband and I are adopting from China and this book made the waiting easier for me. You will be amazed and inspired by this book and the love of this family for Marlee.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: I would recommend this to anyone considering adoption. However, if you are even considering adopting from China, this book is a must read. It is a joy to read and very informative about the steps of adoption from someone who struggled through the process.

The book begins with her desire to have a child and her struggle with infertility. Then how, with God's faith, she gathers the strength to overcome obstacles, and travel to China.

However, it does not end with her trip to China. It details her trip there, which is both wonderful and difficult, to meet her child.

If you have ever thought adoption might be for you, please consider this book. Perhaps God has a little miracle waiting for you.
