Summary: A sensible, practical book
Review: Get A Clue! A Parent's Guide To Understanding And Communicating With Your Preteen by wife, mother, and certified sex educator Ellen Rosenberg is a sensible, practical book for adults on how to relate with one's child about such complex and difficult topics as self-esteem, physical maturation and sexual development, alcohol and other drugs, friendship and popularity, death and suicide, and much more. Get A Clue! is very highly recommended as a solid, "parent friendly" resource filled cover to cover with examples, useful advice, and practical information about teaching young people the facts they need to know to guide their own lives as they grow up.

Summary: This book really helped us to help our children.
Review: This is a great book! My wife and I are "older" parents of three children. Sometimes we feel very far removed from the issues they face - especially our youngest. We attended one of Ms. Rosenberg's lectures and were very impressed by the directness with which she was able to address real issues that were very important to the children present - in an intimate fashion, offering the child who was the "source" of the question total privacy, saving any embarrassment which might evolve from a direct one-on-one discussion. You really had to be there to see how the children opened up and participated in discussions they would not address directly with their parents. When we learned of "Get A Clue" we immediately bought it. It is a mirror of the discussion group. The answers are real. The suggestions about how to approach different issues are on target. We use it as a reference and it has been effective for us because it addresses the things on our childrens' minds. The reality of the issues presented and the suggested responses are right on target. It really has worked for us and I certainly suspect it will work for others.
