Summary: I'm free from low back pain!
Review: Art Brownstein's book "Healing Back Pain Naturally" was in our local library, I checked it out, read it, applied the exercises and my life changed!
I had suffered for twenty years, spent thousands of dollars in medical fees, visited an endless number of orthopedists, osteopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, had taken painkilling medications, muscle relaxants, x-rays, and scans, and analysis, and on, and on.... nothing brought relief beyond the temporary.
Dr. Brownstein makes sense with his exercises, focused on stretching. In addition, his personal story about searching relief from his own back pain is a wonderful read, somewhat like listening to a good friend, sharing his thoughts. His 15-20 minutes per day exercises have made a total difference in my life, right from the first page of reading. As a result, I have been pain-free for two years!
I bought the book for myself at that time and have given many copies since then to other back-pain-suffering friends and colleagues. All have reported favorably. I recommend this book, because with the exercises, you may also be able to find your new lease on life: being free from low back pain, totally free; imagine!

Summary: Healing Back Pain Naturally
Review: Dear Dr. Brownstein, I want to thank you for your expert help in eliminating my backpain, both in person and through your book, Healing Back Pain Naturally. When I arrived in Hawaii in January, I had been in the habit of doing aerobic exercise on treadmill and bike for a half hour every other day, but since I do not belong to a gym in Kauai, I began to do jogging. After a month I was able to complete 2 miles of running each day, but my back pain was killing me. You diagnosed my problem as hamstrings which needed stretching, and showed me a few exercises in your book. I got the book and followed your advice, and within 2 days my back pain had completely disappeared. The effect was virtual magic! I hope others can benefit from my experience with your book. Summary: It works!
Review: Doctors insisted I needed surgury to relieve the pain, tingling, & numbness caused by a herniated disk between the C5-6 vertebrae (neck). After following the exercises and other advice in Healing Back Pain Naturally, I've resumed karate training, and the tingling, pain, and numbness is a thing of past.

If you have back or neck pain, or related symptoms, don't get surgury until you follow the advice in this book for at least 3 months (no matter what doctors may tell you)

Summary: If you have back pain,this book can give you your life back.
Review: Even though I am a medical doctor, what I learned about back pain came from my being a back pain patient for over twenty years. Successful results from the program described in this book have been verified by thousands of others. In the overwhelming majority of cases, you can heal your back pain naturally, without drugs or surgery. It is important to remember that you are not a machine that can be fixed with the replacement of spare parts, but rather that you are human being with a body, mind, and soul. You need to understand that what is going on in your life can affect the health of your body. When you are able to do this, you are well on your way to a happy, healthy, pain-free life.

Summary: A doctor that doesn't think like a doctor
Review: I am a long distance bicycle rider. 100+ miles/day. Over the last several years I have been experiencing neck/back muscle and spine problems. I have seen too many specialist to count. A friend bought this book for me and It has turned my life around.

My C-Spine problems are almost gone. My neck/shoulder muscles are improving every day.

Dr. Brownstein's book is exactly what the Doctor ordered.

Summary: This really helped!
Review: I am not a big believer in alternative medicine, but after an MRI showed a ruptured L-5 disk, (and the doctor suggested surgery)I chose to explore other options. Luckily, my internet search led me to Amazon's reviews of Dr. Brownstein's book and I decided to try his methods before pursuing surgery. I can only say that the results are miraculous! After six months of mild to excruciating back and leg pain, I am now 95% pain -free; off all painkillers; and I've resumed walking 3.5 miles daily. The idea of these simple stretching exercises as a "cure" seems so far-fetched to me that I can only urge back-pain sufferers to give this a try! I felt significant results in a matter of days! Thank you, Dr. Brownstein (and Amazon, too!)

Summary: sherri , reader with back and neck pain
Review: I got this book as a gift and i think after reading it" only if it was that easy to forget about your pain!" I think the book tells us the strong link between the mind and pain but doesn't offer anything new when it comes to solving the problem of pain through exercises which 99% of todays experts say is the best solution to back or neck pain. Invest in an updated book that tells you how to exercise anywhere.

Summary: First real help I found for chronic back pain.
Review: I happened upon this book after six frustrating months of trying to find a medical solution for pain resulting from a herniated disk. I had been to numerous specialists and tried physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, any number of drugs, and even excrutiatingly painful epidural steroid shots in a search for pain relief. I was so debilitated, I couldn't drive and was having trouble taking care of myself. I gave this book a shot with little hope of help. I started with the book's suggested program of gentle stretching and very short walks. Six months later, I have my life back. I am lifting weights, doing Pilates and walking (vigorously) an hour a day. I have never felt better. When my back hurts now, which it still does when I overdo it, I just get back on this program.

Summary: The Mind Body Program
Review: I have been suffering from back pain for a long time and was treated by different doctors with exercises, medication and massage. I was not getting any better. Then I chanced up on this book and I knew I had a winner in my hand. Exercises are easy to follow and are very effective. I have been lucky to read his detailed explanations for neck and back pain.
