Summary: Hits the spot
Review: Out of the many many AS and autism books I have read, this one really hit the spot. It gave me hope, made me laugh and cry. This book a mom of an AS child can really relate too. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Summary: A Great, Informative Book
Review: This book is extreemly informative and easy to read. It is great for parents whose children have been diagnosed with AS, for children with AS, and for professionals studying As. It describes one families day-to-day struggles with Asperger's syndrome.

Summary: ONLY FOR CERTAIN READERS
Review: THIS BOOK IS MORE ABOUT THE AUTHOR, THAN THE CHILD, OR THE PROBLEMS. THIS IS DEFINITELY THE "CHICK FLICK" OF ASPERGER BOOKS. IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT, THEN GREAT, OTHERWISE LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Summary: ONE TO READ
Review: THIS BOOK SHOULD GO ALONG WITH TONY ATTWOOD BOOK AND THE BOOK PRETENDING TO BE NORMAL. IT IS NY PERSONAL FFFAVE OUT OF THE THREE. I REALLY IDENTIFY WITH JINNY LAST NIGHT I WAS UP SICK AND READ HALF THE BOOK AGAIN.

Summary: extremely helpful
Review: This book was extremely helpful to read to help understand AS from the perspective of the child with AS. It also gave some insightinto help you will need from the school and how this affects the family members (siblings). I would highly recommend it.

Summary: It's like reading our own family's story...
Review: This is a fantastic book. One which might help a parent explain to extended family members what it is like to be *in this life*. It illustrates profoundly the joy and trials which can accompany an AS diagnosis.

Summary: Stands above the rest
Review: This is a terrific book for parents of AS children and the people who love them. Of the many AS books I've purchased this is the only one that I'm buying as a gift for family members.

Summary: Finding the Heart
Review: This is a wonderful book for parents, professionals, relatives, caregivers or anyone who would like a deeper understanding of the trials and tribulations of a child that has Asperger's Syndrome. As I read this story, I couldn't help but feel both heartache and admiration for Jimmy and his family. My husband and I have a 4 year old son with AS, and even though we feel that we know him well, this book has been able to give us further insight into his thoughts and feelings, as well as further insight into parenting struggles and the need for a sense of humor.

I strongly recommend giving this book to relatives that have a difficult time understanding your AS child. It will give them insight into an AS child's life, as well as the parents' lives and family structure. It just might lessen the questions and whispers when you have to leave the party early!!

Summary: Eating an Artichoke
Review: This is perhaps the best book I have ever read on a parent's experiences with a "less than perfect" child. I cried, laughed, and related to everything Echo wrote about her son. This is an excellent book for the parent who has a child with Asperger's Syndrome or any Autism Specturm disorder. Thank you Echo for giving me strength!
