Summary: Not for Toddlers or Babies
Review: My 2 year old has never been interested in this book, and he loves to be read to. If I pick it up, he usually pushes it aside and grabs another one. I think the problem is that the pictures are abstract and not really representative of the words. Toddlers and babies like to be able to recognize objects on a page. This book doesn't feature animals they know (dog, cat, lion, fish) but instead shows exotic animals even I'm not familiar with (arctic tern). Also, the people in the book don't have faces, which are interesting to babies and toddlers. If you want a touching story that your baby or toddler will also appreciate, I would recommend "Love You Forever" instead.

Summary: Excellent Bedtime Reading
Review: My kids ask to have this read to them every night. I was lucky enough to pick up my first copy at a thrift store and had tears in my eyes in the store. I have purchased this book for several friends, and I think I will soon need a new copy for our collection since ours is getting VERY READ. Wonderful and Lyrical the kids now read it to me....and tears still well up in my eyes. A must get for any new parent.

Summary: This book is horrible!!!!
Review: Not for toddlers at all!! This book uses way too many big words, it's hard to read, the words just don't flow easily. I thought this book would be much more entertaining for toddlers but it isn't.

Summary: Wonderful gift to a new baby
Review: On the Day You Were Born is a lovely look at how the earth and all of its creatures prepare for a new baby's arrival. Both the story and the collages are just beautiful. I recommend it as a gift to all new babys. I've just begun reading it to my four-month-old son, and he stares in amazement at the collages. I've read that books should be introduced around six months, but this book certainly holds his attention. I'm sure it will increase in meaning as he grows.

Summary: A wonderful book that makes a great new born gift.
Review: On The Day You Were Born is a wonderful tribute to each individual. It makes a great gift for parents who are beginning their own families or for someone you really appreciate. The illustrations are colorful and hold even the youngest reader's attention.

Summary: You will sing with tears in your eyes....
Review: on the last part of this cassete tape.
Every one of us was a gift which was given to this spinning world, the green earth. We were surely to have heard people whispering "Welcome.....Welcome.....We're so glad you've come."
So I can't help singing the song with the chorus every time I hear the last part of this cassete.
I think the same thing will happen to you!!!

Summary: A joyful way to celebrate and honor the birth of a child.
Review: Reading this book is a joyful way to celebrate and honor the birth of a child! The text and illustrations are magical and educational, too! My son received two copies of this book when he was born, and now we are sharing it with our daughter. We read this book so often that I recently had a dream about it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who cherishes our children and their place in the world.

Summary: Powerfully sweet.
Review: The first time I saw this book I was at a book store shopping for a gift for my new little nephew. I was initially attracted to the title and the artistry. I turned the pages, reading in anticipation of the day *he* was born, I turned the final page, and read the last line. I will tell you that tears welled up in my eyes. I have bought this book for every new life ever since. How happy I was to receive this book for a gift for my little son this past February.

Summary: Give this book to new mothers and grandmothers
Review: The mother or grandmother of every new baby in my life gets a copy of this beautiful, life affirming book. I hope it inspires a lifetime of reading for the children who hear this story read aloud by a loved one.

Summary: Beautifuly Thought Provoking
Review: This book captured me with the first page. I believe Mother Earth on all her creatures are all conected by a circle of life and this book captures that meaning in a lovely way. It has become my favorite "baby gift" after the new wonder is born. And my sons' have a copy too.
