Summary: THE BEST BOOK ON ADD EVER!
Review: I have read many books about ADD. This is by far the best. I borrowed it from the library and now I am going to buy it. It is even useful for parents of upper elementary school students. Many 10 and 11 year olds have similar issues. Read it, refer to it, use it as your guide for many years. I hope that Chris Zeigler Dendy intends to revise it as the research, treatment and knowledge moves forward.

Summary: Best I've seen!
Review: I purchased this book when it first came out. I have used it as a reference tool so often that the pages are dog-eared and a few are coming out. I have loaned it to friends and gone over it with teachers. It is by far the most comprehensive book on the ADD/ADHD subject that I have ever read (and I have quite a collection!), yet it is written so that any parent can gain a better understanding of their child, and become an advocate for them in the school system. I am now purchasing a replacement copy so that a friend of mine can enjoy my old one. It is really an indispensible tool for dealing with an invisible adversary. This is the book that will always be on the coffee table, or the desk, or your night stand.......

Summary: This book is the best resource yet for ADD and your teen.
Review: If you have some of the same issues that your teen does with respect to ADD and staying focused, you will find this book hard to put down. The book dealt with all of my questions regarding attention deficit and provided me with the tools to get my two sons the assistance they needed. I have read everything I can get my hands on with respect to ADD,and this book by far has been the most helpful.

Summary: wow
Review: My 8th grade daughter has just been diagnosed with ADD and I've been reading everything on the subject. Anyone who has a teenager struggling in school should read this book. It offers extremly good information on school educational process and steps to help your child get the needed educational help. Finally I understand what ADD is and how it affects my daughter. After reading this book I wondered why I waited so long to get her help. This is a must have book.

Summary: COMPREHENSIVE. A MUST READ IF YOUR CHILD HAS ADD
Review: OUR SON IS IN 8TH GRADE, AND WE DIAGNOSED HIS ADD BEFORE HE STARTED SCHOOL. HE DOES NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATION AND IS IN TOP 1% IN INTELLIGENCE. HE DRIVES US CRAZY, HOWEVER, IN TRYING TO GET HIM TO DO HIS HOMEWORK RATHER THAN PLAY VIDEO GAMES OR MAGIC CARDS. THIS BOOK TOLD US THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT GREATLY IMPROVE UNTIL SOMETIME IN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS ALLOWED US TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND STOP PUTTING SO MUCH PRESSURE ON OUR SON TO CHANGE NOW. IT TOOK A LOT OF PRESSURE OFF US, TOO. THE BOOK INCLUDES A GREAT DISCUSSION OF THE PROS AND CONS OF VARIOUS MEDICATIONS. I LIKED THE SUGGESTION OF SENDING TEACHERS A SUMMARY REGARDING THE ADD STUDENT - SUGGESTED SUMMARY IS PROVIDED. JUST GET THIS BOOK. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Summary: PARENTING TEENAGERS WITH ADD CAN BE EXTREMELY CHALLENGING!!
Review: Parenting our teenage sons with ADD was probably the most humbling, yet rewarding, experience of my life! In spite of my so-called credentials as a teacher, school psychologist, mental health counselor, and lobbyist I found parenting our sons extremely challenging at times. When I wrote Teenagers with ADD, there were no books on the topic. I spent seven years researching common behaviors that teens with ADD exhibit and identifying which intervention strategies were most effective: (non-compliance, being late, school failure, sleep problems, suicide risk, speeding tickets, and occasionally brushes with the law). The good news is that our sons are young adults now. One is a college graduate, married, and gainfully employed; the other is presently attending college and is extremely skilled with computers. ADD runs in both our families, so we have had the advantage of seeing several family members cope successfully with ADD. Hopefully, other parents and professionals will learn from both our mistakes and our successes. My husband and I bring you a message of hope and optimism plus send our best wishes to each family and treatment professional who struggles with this condition!!

Summary: WONDERFUL!! WONDERFUL!1
Review: This book helped me so much in better understanding where my son is coming from. I especially like the chapter where kids with ADD comment themselves on what it is like to live with ADD. It really opens your eyes to what these kids are going through. They are smart, funny, intelligent kids. They just happen to need to learn and live a bit different than the rest of us. I highly recommend this book for any family dealing with ADD.
