Summary: There is hope...and a good book!
Review: After reading this book I felt like I could teach on course on ADD! This book answered so many questions that I had regarding my 13 year old son with ADD. It is very easy to read, and written so that you don't have to read the chapters in consecutive order to get something out of it. This book gave me a clearer understanding of what ADD is, HOW it affects teenagers, and WHAT to do about it to make life easier at home and at school. I highly recommend it for any parent who is struggling with a teenager with ADD.

Summary: ADD Teens-Hope and Help
Review: An excellent resource for both parents and teachers who deal with ADD teens. I am a junior high teacher who deals with ADD teens and up to now have been frustrated by the lack of resources for both parents and educators. A must have!

Summary: Excellent resource
Review: As an educational diagnostician who works a lot with students with ADD, this book is by far the most comprehensive and helpful. Whether you are a parent or a teacher, do yourself a favor and buy it. Thank you Ms. Dendy!!

Summary: WHAT A RESOURCE!!!
Review: Have you ever read a book that you just couldn't read fast enough? This book has so much information that is so valuable, so accurate, so comforting, so reassuring, and so on... that it is priceless! It literally helped save my life. While reading it, I felt like the author had actually been spying on my family and recorded every detail of our stuggles with our sons and their ADD and ADHD. It has been exactly the resource I needed, when I needed it, because it covers EVERY aspect of this challenging disorder. I cannot adequately express my sincere gratitude to the book's author, except to highly recommend it to anyone reading this review.

Summary: A life saver ; you helped me to love my son with ADD.
Review: Having a 15 year old son only diagnosed with ADD at age 14 has been a nightmare. Every thing I read about ADD referred to the preteen child. This book helped me to love and understand my son even when he was at his least loveable. With a lot of love and a little Ritalin and Effexor I have the son I only dreamed about last year. Thank you Chris Ziegler from the bottom of my heart.

Summary: The best resource I have seen for parenting teens with ADD.
Review: I borrowed this book from the library. I am now purchasing it. It will be an invaluable resource from Jr High through college. I used it to draw up a detailed 504 Accommodation Plan for my son's school. The school agreed to all my requests. This book empowered me in my dealings with the school. Without this book, my son would have had to settle for a school devised plan that was totally inadequate. Every parent of a teen with ADD needs this book in their home library.

Summary: Excellent, Informative, Comforting, Realistic, Helpful
Review: I bought this book on the advise of my 15 yr. old son's new counsellor. I can't thank her enough. I thought I was alone. We were always hitting a brick wall when seeking help for this disability, with no end to this confusion in our lives. We are going through some tough times with his school and the school board just trying to get guidence to understand and cope. I get so frustrated with them that I want to run out and buy this book for the teachers, vice principals and principals to educate them to understand our kids better than they think they already do. I find they don't know enough to understand any teen (my teen) who is struggling with ADHD. At least I will, and that's what's most important. Thankyou Dr. Zeigler

Summary: Very Helpful
Review: I can't say how helpful this book has been. As I read it that first night, it felt as if it was written directly for me. My 8th grade daughter has had and still does have all the ups and downs of Jr. High. I felt this book turned a light on and pointed me in the right direction. We have been dealing with ADD issues a few years now and it reminded me I am not alone, that it will work out and it also relieved a lot of stress so that I was more able to help my daughter. Thank you.

Summary: Great book.
Review: I first got this at the library. Now I am going to buy it. I refer to it over and over. It made me realize that the professionals that were "helping me" were not doing a good job. It made me questions whether my son was receiving the right medication, where his authority figure problems was coming from, etc. It now allowsd me to focus my questions to the professionals better, and to overlook some of my sons behaviours better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent suggestions
Review: I have been working with students with disabilities for 20 years and find this to be one of the most factual and useful books for parents and professionls in this field.
