Summary: My Pregnancy Bible!
Review: I fell in love with this book because of the adorable baby on the cover. I kept it by my desk at work and referred to it periodically when my doctor would describe tests or results that I did not understand. The authors are highly credible and present medical information in a manner that is easy to understand and NOT frightening. The tone of the book gave me a sense of calm--as I felt I was no longer alone and that there was HOPE for me and my husband to have our own family. I recommend this book to women, men, couples--whoever needs more information on how to get pregnant and the problems that can cause infertility. You will not regret buying this--and it just might help you get results--a healthy baby!!

Summary: A Must For Anyone Facing Infertility
Review: I found that I became dependent on this book. I first checked it out of the Library when I found I was having trouble "Making A Baby". Soon, I realized checking it out wasn't practical. I was in constant need of the information inside. This isn't the kind of book that you would really need to read from cover to cover, but it IS a GREAT reference book. Every step my doctor has taken is in this book. It explains all of the stuff the doctor explains to you in person, but you usually forget later, and more. It really makes me feel more confident that I have something to go back to without having the feeling that I am pestering my nursing staff with the same repeated questions.

Summary: No Good
Review: I had just finished reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler (WONDERFUL BOOK). I was anxious to read more on the subject of getting pregnant so I bought this based on the 2 reviews it was given. I was horribly disappointed. Unless you have infertility problems I would not reccomend this book. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a much bettter book for anyone who is trying to get pregnant or just wants to know more about their body.

Summary: finally pregnant!
Review: I have been waiting for years to bring a child into this world, and could not wait until I got pregnant---unfortunately it was not as easy as I had expected. However, a relative gave me this book, and several months later, I finally am expecting the beautiful child I have been waiting for for so long. The tips in the book are helpful, and there was a lot more information than I had expected to find in the book, about pregnancy and health. Easy to read too.

Summary: I recommend this book to my clients.
Review: I have recommended this book for two years to my infertility clients at our clinic. The section on stress and complementary and alternative medicine modalities for relieving stress is superb. I believe stress not only interferes with ovulation and conception, it is also a major factor in coping with all the tests and therapies couples undergo at a fertility clinic. Using the stress reduction methods in Making a Baby, my clients tend to have better coping skills and are more prepared for the grueling procedures that are sometimes necessary to get a healthy baby. The book is written in such a compassionate tone and is easy-to-read. The authors' credentials are astute.

Summary: This book is a wonderful guide for ways to get pregnant!
Review: I just wanted to let everyone know that my wife and I have been having difficulty having children, and a friend of ours recommended this book. This book is more a guide on methodology and effective ways to get pregnant. I don't know where we'd be without Dr. Thatcher and Ms. Bruce's advice, but I will tell you that we wouldn't have our very own child if it wasn't for this book. I owe them my life!!! An excellent read.

Summary: excellent advice
Review: I wish I'd known about this book in the almost two years it took me to get pregnant. After reading the sections on stress I fully believe stress is what was responsible for our infertility--the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with us other than my husband's count was somewhat low/abnormal. We are young--me, late 20s, him early 30s, both stress cases to begin with, classic overachievers, and infertility only made us more type A. it was even worse for my husband since he had given up a son for adoption and had always regretted it. We began to our lives by the calendar--after awhile it seemed like the only reason we were together was to have a baby. Little did we know that stress was probably what was screwing up my ovulation cycle and his count the whole time. Finally we decided to give it six more months and at the end of it we would try whatever drugs or interventions the doctors wanted to put us on. I resolved to do everything possible to try to get pregnant. We started using ovulation kits; I got massages twice a month; he stopped riding his bike and we both went on high doses of vitamins. Then at the end of the six months we took a vacation--two weeks in Italy, nothing but drinking wine and absorbing beauty. Neither of us thought of work the entire time. I got pregnant the day after we returned home. I truly believe that if I'd read this book earlier we could have saved ourselves a lot of time and heartache. The role of stress in infertility is deeply underestimated; this book not only acknowledges what stress can do but the many ways to combat it. Highly recommended for those in my situation.
