Review: I purchased this book when I was three-months pregnant with my first child. I was able to do most of the abdominal wall and breathing exercises on my daily bus-ride to and from work. The visualization/mental exercises at the end of the book are also very beneficial. I had no epidural, no drugs, and my son was born after only four and a half hours of labor. The exercises really work!

We are preparing to get pregnant again soon so I am preparing for it. I have read this book cover to cover and have already begun doing the exercises! I think women, pregnant or not, should read this book! In two weeks, I have felt a difference in the tone of my abs and also my posture! The book really focuses on being aware of your body and specific muscles thus giving you control. This book for me has filled in alot of the gaps that my OB doctor, Lamaze teacher and 5 other pregnancy books couldn't fill!It does ask you to give alot of time to the exercises, but most of them can be included into your everyday activites. The book is based on a program which is offered in different areas of the country. Unfortunately, there is not a program located near me. After reading the book I did have some questions, but do not have a resource to get the answers. That's the only draw back to the book. For anyone who desires a healthy, active and positive pregnancy experience, I highly recommend Maternal Fitness. Your body and your new baby will thank you!

It offers women a way to feel more in control of their pregnancy, The program isn't easy -- there's no doubt about it -- but it seems well worth it. I haven't actually put it to the test yet, but I feel so much better knowing I am doing something specific to help me prepare. I recommend it very highly. Good illustrations and descriptions, doesn't require a lot of expensive equipment.

I only used this book for two months before the birth of my first child. I was in labor for only 5 hours and only had to push 5 times before my daughter was born. The exercises in this book work!!!

This was my first baby and I was scared to death of labor and delivery. I did all of the exercises and did water aerobics up until I went into labor. I only had hard labor for 1 hour and the delivery took 10 minutes with 4 pushes. My doctor was amazed. Me and my husband were relieved. I've recommended this book to 3 other people.
