Summary: Pretty good, but this book could be a lot better
Review: This book is the followup to "Baby Bargains." I recommend buying this book.

However, it really could be better in a lot of ways. The Fields don't seem to acknowledge that a lot of families are practicing attachment parenting and need more information on the family bed. Instead, the book just discourages ever putting kids in an adult bed without explaining how to do it safely.

Also, some of the stroller info could be better researched.

In spite of these short comings, it does a very good job in most areas and I highly recommend it.

Summary: A wealth of information
Review: This is the book to have, as well as it's counterpart "baby bargains" by the same author. when the title indicates ways to find bargains and save money it is correct. i have found out many things that i didn't know; i.e. target's shoes are made by stride rite! right there with the money i saved i have already paid for the book. it is definately the book you must get when your child reaches toddlerhood. i refer to mine like a reference book and i now buy one for every one of my friends with young children. thanks for the excellent resource!

Summary: Best book for toddler products
Review: Toddler bargains is a great resource book when it comes to buying toddler products. I was very eager to receive my copy and learn about double strollers. The information and advice given in the book helped my decide on the best and safest stroller for my family. I will also refer to it when I'm ready to buy a convertible car seat. The toy and potty seat reviews are also good.

Summary: Wonderful Resource!
Review: Very helpful in the decision of what and what not to buy for your toddler. I have used this book to buy my toddler's booster seat, furniture, potty training devices, clothing, etc. Anytime I feel the urge to buy him something I pick up Toddler Bargains first. The list of on-line stores is also helpful, if for nothing else, to do a little price comparison shopping before heading out the door. The "Money Saving Secrets" sections are great for someone like me that has to buy within a budget.

Summary: Not as Good as "Baby Bargains"
Review: We looked forward to reading this book. Baby bargains was great. Toddler Bargains is just ok. There is alot to like about this book, but it does not live up to the predecessor.

As usual, where the book rates products the ratings are very helpful. The book is based around the opinions of the Fields, with some input from consumers via e-mail and other sources. "Baby Bargains" would state that the authors did not care for a type of product and then rate those items for people who really wanted to buy them, this book doesn't. In the furniture section they say that they recommend skipping the toddler bed for a twin bed, and then go on to discuss bunk bed safety. This ignores the fact that many readers have practical reasons for buying a toddler bed and would like the guidance.

Another problem is there is an abundance of "filler" to make the book bigger in addition to the very helpful information, that makes this book more of a treasure hunt than "Baby Bargains". Much of the information is general, and alot can be easily found online.

Overall this is a good book, but look through it before you buy it, or buy it on sale.

Summary: Love it!
Review: Wonderful Book, great reviews! I found the Baby Bargains book very valuable and was excited when the Toddler edition came out. I find the Toddler book to be very complete and the reviews are Right On! I've not had any regrets on any of the purchases I've made using the advice from Toddler Bargains! It has saved me time and money.

Summary: Another hit for the Alan and Denise Fields
Review: You can't go wrong with any of the 'Bargains' books. What could be better than real life parents testing out all the toddler equipment and keeping it in a handy-to-use book? I appreciate that they also get feedback from other parents to make their recommendations. Busy parents don't have the time or money to test everything and this book just makes life easier. I appreciate their legwork and follow-ups via emails that they send to me with recalls and updates. They also respond to my emails when I have questions and give them constructive criticism.
