Summary: Buy this before you buy anything for your toddler!
Review: A fabulous follow-up to the Fields' indispensable book, Baby Bargains... packed with information to help you navigate the oh-so confusing and overwhelming smorgasbord of toddler products & services. You'll make better purchasing decisions and, as a result, you'll be able to expend your energies where they belong: on your children (instead of on returns, repairs, new purchases, customer service problems, or trips to donate the stuff you can't use). An earlier review complains there's not enough attachment parenting information. But that's not entirely fair: the Fields offer parenting insights and advice where they can, but this is not a how-to parenting guide. It's a critical look at what's available in the general market, with discussions to help you decide what might work best for your situation, your lifestyle.

Summary: More than just bargains
Review: Along with its predecessor, this is a must-have for all parents! It's good to know that the most expensive of something is not necesarily the best product. Besides the fact that all kids are different and some products are really better for taller kids, chunkier ones, etc... As an already busy parent, it's nice to have this resource to help narrow down the zillions of choices for products that we must shop for and have for our kids. Sure, it's not a going to have everything for everybody but it's a great place to get reliable and parent-tested information. Kudos to the Fields!

Summary: More Bargains for Parents!
Review: Although this book is not as extensive as Baby Bargains, it is still a must have for parents. They also should market this book to older babies, not just toddlers. My son is just turning one and I have found this book very useful for buying sippy cups, shoes and toys. It's great to be able to read recommendations from other parents.

Summary: Because your bundle of joy gets MORE expensive with time!
Review: And you thought diapers and formula were expensive. . . whew! You ain't seen nothin' yet! Toddler Bargains takes up where its predecessor, Baby Bargains, leaves off. Great discussion of toddler topics with clear explanations of some confusing topics--for example, what's the difference in a car seat versus a booster seat and what's with all the different training potties? As a first-time parent, I especially appreciate their clear definitions--so many folks just assume I know the lingo!

The best thing about all the Fields' books is that while they are serious about their consumer research, they can have a little fun along the way. For me, it's like having a friend in the business!

I'm lucky. I'm about three years behind the Fields in all their adventures, so about the time I need a book on a new topic, that's what they are releasing!

Summary: My one and only resource
Review: Consistent with their phenomenal advice in Baby Bargains, the Fields do it right again in Toddler Bargains. From advice on potty chairs to age appropriate toys to FAQ about swimming lessons, this book has it all. Another great attribute of the book is that the Fields keep it updated with e-newsletters about recalls, new products and more. Well worth the purchase price.

Summary: Best By Far
Review: Denise & Alan have out done themselves again. I benefitted as much from this as their Baby Bargains book. It has a wealth of information to get you through the toddler years at a great savings. They were right on target with the reviews on Booster Seats. This book by far stands out above other books that rate products. It is laid out in a easy to read format & offers practical well researched information. I will recommend this to all the parents for whom I purchased Baby Bargains. Carry this with you when you shop & you can't go wrong.

Summary: Mom to a 3 year old and an almost one year old
Review: Great Sequel to baby bargains. Baby bargains is an amazing resource. I give it to all my pregnant friends. I had been hoping and hoping that the Fields would do a book on toddler gear and here it is! Toddler bargains has great info on jogging strollers, potties, clothing, beds, tricycles, toddler car seats (although I do wish they would include height limitations for each carseat as it is very hard to find that information and my children are very tall) and more. In short almost everything you need to know to distinguish between all the choices out there. Great info, well presented and the Fields are wonderful about updating info through their website. Great resource!

Summary: Every parent must buy this book!
Review: I bought Bridal Bargains for our wedding, Baby Bargains for while I was pregant and now have Toddler Bargains...what a wonderful series of books. The Fields really listen to parents comments & concerns and weigh those against safety, reliability and price to give parents an excellent guide on what to buy and what to avoid. My Baby Bargains book is referred to whenever I need to buy something new, and now I'm marking my Toddler Bargains book for the next stage of my daughters life. Their website is an excellent companion to this book, with updates, parent questions etc. I've purchased many of their books for gifts also!

Summary: A great buy!
Review: I feel like I have grown up with all of the Field's books-I have read Bridal Bargains, Baby Bargains, and now, this book Toddler Bargains. They give adequate advice on what to buy for your toddler and how much it will cost. The Fields give very helpful information about which websites to use to get the best bargains. I like their no nosense approach to products in that they advocate fully to spend a little more money sometimes to get better quality and better lasting products in things like car seats, booster seats, and strollers. I particularly enjoyed the section on booster seats, it really cleared up some things for our toddler! A really great buy, and I advocate all of their books for all the changes in our adult lives.

Summary: Great Potty Training Guidance
Review: I found this book to be very informative especially for a first time parent. There's so much to choose from in the stores that it's hard to know what item to purchase, let alone what products offer the most value. I especially found that true of the potty training section of this book. I had actually purchased a potty before getting the Toddler Bargains book and found out that the potty I had purchased was a poor performer, especially for boys. Fortunately, the potty was still in its box and I was able to exchange it. I wish I had used the sister book also written by Fields, Baby Bargains. Regardless, I'm glad I purchased this book. These bargain books are just as important as the "What to Expect" series, especially for first time parents.
