Summary: The Best Breastfeeding Book Ever
Review: I laughed my way through most of the book. The author is very informative and lets you know what is really going on and some of the bs that Doctors and Family tell you. She makes the book very east to read by making it humorus. I own many breastfeeding books and this is the best. It will shock and amaze you on what people are lead to believe about formula and how breastfeeding was put on a stand still in this country. Most of all My husband even liked this book. I have breastfed two children and I plan to do the same again with this one.

Summary: A Lighthearted Lifesaver!
Review: I started this book shortly after having my 3rd child. I did not care much about nursing my new baby, I thought I would "try" it. This book gave me a serious attitude adjustment. I could not keep my hands off it. I read it and reread it. Most books on this subject are dry and text book style. This book is easy to read, it will keep you interested and explain things you may not ask the doctor or your mom. My baby is 7 months now, we are nursing and will be as long as she wants to. It is a real eye opener and will help you get through those difficult times when you are considering jumping ship. It also gives you facts to help you know you are doing the right thing, you'll also have information to convince other people who may not be as supportive as they should be. GET IT NOW, for everyone you know!!

Summary: Loved the Humor
Review: I was one of those moms who had several stumbling blocks to overcome when establishing my nursing relationship with my daughter. Reading the La Leche League book only made me feel worse and more incompetant. This book provided exactly what I needed at a critical time and my daughter and I went on to a wonderful 28 months as a nursing pair. This is the very first thing I give to friends when I find out they are expecting whether it's their first or fifth. I am currently 5mos pregnant with our second and have already pulled out my copy for a refresher.

THANK YOU JANET!!!

Summary: A great place to start
Review: So That's What They're For is a funny, informative book on breastfeeding. If you're pregnant and haven't yet decided whether to breastfeed, you will make an INFORMED decision after reading this book. I've read it twice and I loan it to pregnant friends. The second edition shows that with perseverence, even difficulties can be overcome. And the author knows it, because she had difficulty nursing her second child.

A must for moms-to-be!

Summary: The best Book in the Wold!!
Review: This book was the most informational and humorous book I have ever read. I learned everything I needed to know and she gave it humorous tweaks and made it fun. Made me feel more comfortable in what I was doing and why I was doing it. She Tells you about her experiences as well as some of her friends which gives you diffrent situations. She also did lots of research before writing her book Therefore having lots of statistics and Information. I would definatly recommend it to everyone who is going to Breastfeed. I also Highly recommend Talking to a Lactaion Consultant Mine was very Helpful.

Summary: Someday I'll buy one of these and keep it for myself!
Review: I must be on my 5th copy. I have read it several times and referred to it throughout my children's baby and toddlerhoods. Unfortunately, it's SUCH a good book on the subject I keep giving my copy away to friends! Everytime I hear of someone who is 'thinking' about nursing or is even a little open to the idea, I slap a copy of this book in their hands. It works. They read it and FINALLY get an inkling why I am such a breastfeeding advocate. Thank you, Ms. Tamaro, for writing a book I can so, wholeheartedly, recommend!

Summary: You Will Actually Read This One :)
Review: I am a nurse and also a new mother. Before I had my son, I wanted to get more information about breastfeeding. So... I bought this book, along with a few others. I read this one cover to cover in 2 days. It was really a great book! The way the author wrote the book made it a breeze to quickly read through it. It's broken down into several small chapters -- and is pretty humerous too. When I had my son, I had NO problems with breastfeeding. I felt like I had a good knowledge base to fall back on. The other books I bought had good information in them -- but I just couldn't make myself read them. Get this book and I'm sure you'll be happy that you did.

Summary: This is a must have for new moms & veteran moms!!!
Review: This is an absolutely wonderful book. I have read a lot of breastfeeding books and as an expecting mommy and nurse I can say if you are not sure if you want to breastfeed or you just need a good book to start or review with, THIS IS THE BOOK!! You will say, oh my gosh I HAVE to breastfeed!! It also answers all your little embarassing questions that you don't want to ask anyone. I can't say enough good things about this book. It is now going to be one of my baby shower giving gifts. I think everyone should read this book before deciding to use formula or breastfeed!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!

Summary: Very useful! But...
Review: I can't say enough good things about this book if you are planning to breastfeed or just think you might want to. It was well-written, informative and instructive. However, I was unable to breastfeed my baby because he had a short lingual frenulum (tongue-tied) and a domed palate. I DID pump and feed him breastmilk from a bottle (which he also had trouble with) for eight weeks. There ARE some women (although not many) who are not able to breastfeed -- for whatever reason -- I felt that Ms. Tamaro could have been a little more charitable to us. There wasn't much in this book about what to do in these special situations and I could have used some advice. My pediatrician would not even consider clipping my son's tongue and my lactation consultant said she couldn't help me until the baby's tongue was clipped. I was persistent and finally took my son to an ENT and she recommended the tongue-clipping procedure IMMEDIATELY! Anyway, if you have breast-feeding problems, be persistent -- it's worth the effort!
