Rating: Summary: Lots of helpful info and actually FUN to read Review: I had read several breastfeeding books while pregnant and this is the one I reread and went back to for reference after my son was born. Unlike some other books which may have been helpful, but were boring, I actually read this cover to cover because it was interesting, had funny stories from other breastfeeding moms, and was very supportive. It also gave the how-to's, the facts, etc. in an easy to read, easy-to-reference-later format. A great buy and a great gift.
Rating: Summary: If you get one breastfeeding book...THIS IS IT! Review: GET THIS BOOK BEFORE YOUR BABY IS BORN...YOU'LL LOVE IT! I found this book by chance at a bargain bookstore 6 years ago when expecting my first child and it has BY FAR been the best resource for breastfeeding. I've probably read it cover to cover 5 times and constantly refer back to it with each child. This book tells it like it is (which other books rarely do), is funny and very encouraging. There is a TON of info on how to get through any problems. I nursed each of my kids for 15 months and I honestly don't think I would have done it if I hadn't read this book. This is a MUST if you have hopes of breastfeeding successfully for any amount of time. It's absolutely wonderful!
Rating: Summary: A must for new and expectant moms!!! Review: I got this book after deciding to give breastfeeding a chance. It was the best money I spent. The non-judgemental and non-condesending message of this book is great. It is full of every breastfeeding fact you could need. When I had problems in the beginning, I referred to this book daily. I have already re-read it several times in anticpation of our new baby. I give this out as a gift to every one of my friend's a baby showers. It is the best book out there.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal, fun, fact-filled and FUNNY! Review: I LOVE this book. If only all baby and childcare books were this full of information and this much fun to read. Please, Ms. Tamaro, write more! I would not have breastfed if I hadn't found this book.
Rating: Summary: Breastfeeding isn't always easy--this book helps a lot! Review: I had no idea breastfeeding could be so challenging...it's just what you do, right? Well, my baby and I faced our challenges and I referred to this book again and again. It was given out at our breastfeeding class and I was so grateful for it. I give it to pregnant moms too. All I can say is read it while pregnant and be prepared. Good luck!
Rating: Summary: What a disappointment. Review: This book was a waste of my time and money. I'd already decided to breastfeed so the pages and pages extolling the virtues of nursing were wasted on me. The practical information was watered down and hard to find in the poorly structured book.
Rating: Summary: Good book for first time moms Review: I have bought several books on breastfeeding and this is by far the most enjoyable one to read. It has a lot of good, practical information and is written in a way that keeps you entertained.
Rating: Summary: Great info! Funny too! Review: I read this book while expecting, along with many others, and not only did it have great information, but was a really enjoyable read. My copy has since helped out two other women decide that nursing is something they can do too!
Rating: Summary: Humor at a time when you REALLY need it! Review: This very funny and informative book is absolutely a must for women who are going to breast feed their child and don't have a large support system of friends and family to get these kinds of answers from. I howled my way thru it and then went back to it time and again with different questions and problems. At 3 am when your baby and your breasts are killing you, THIS book is especially helpful!
Rating: Summary: A great book if you cannot decide between breast and formula Review: This is the best breastfeeding book I have ever read. I did not feel like the author was preaching or trying to pressure me to choose breastfeeding. It is also very funny and offers a lot of very helpful and good information. I have stuck with breastfeeding longer this time and I think it has alot to do with this book.
