Summary: It's the "What to Expect...from Fatherhood"
Review: A friend gave this to my husband after my son was born. It was like an instruction book for a first time dad. We both had a lot of fun sharing the much needed advice. Easy to read even with lack of sleep.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Clever, Witty, Realistic
Review: All I can say is that Dr. Goldman captures in print what I'm thinking. Thanks for the fabulous book!

Summary: Great resource
Review: Dr. Goldman has provided a wonderful resource for dad's to know how to cope with the joys of parenthood. I also highly recommend
Armin Brott's The Expectant Father. His unique presentation of what Dad's are going through emotionally and how to prepare for fatherhood surpasses the typical how-to's in most pregnancy books. It is also a wonderful resource for moms to help dads be the best father they can be right from the start.

Summary: He Has The Experience And The Ability
Review: Easily out does any of the fathering books on the market. It is to the point, smart, funny and accepting. It gives direction and guidence without attitude. I appreciate the author's style and the ease at which I can quickly read the book. It is a book written for men, by a man (no co-authors) with plenty of children (unlike some books touting expertise without substance) and experience. Outstanding.

Summary: Amazingly entertaining and practical !!
Review: How could one book be so chock full of practical tips and humorous views of what fatherhood is all about? Dr. Goldman is full of loving observations of what it means to be an involved dad and a sensitive spouse. This book offers tons of suggestions for dads on how to bond with baby, care for baby's needs and safety, understand baby, and more. In short, this is an invaluable map for charting a course that, for many men, is in mysterious territory. Buy one for yourself and for a friend or two!!

Summary: An Invaluable Guide to Being a Great Dad!!
Review: I admit that I was nervous when my wife told me she was pregnant. That's ok! I went right out and happened upon this book-How lucky!! I had looked through others but Dr. Goldman seemed to know what I was thinking. He was not afraid to take on the real issues effecting you, your wife and new baby. The book is funny and filled with great, helpful anecdotes. It does not talk down to you and treats you like an equal. I highly recommend this book. I read Mr. Brott's book too and found it kind of simplistic and not very helpful. This book is great in all respects.

Summary: Very practical and a fun read for dads!
Review: I felt this book told me exactly what was going on in my life as a Dad. It was almost like the book could read my mind. It also helped me understand my wife's feelings, and the different stages my son was going through. A must read for new dads.

Summary: Answers the Questions Fathers are Afraid to Ask
Review: I think the reviewer from New England missed the point. This book is a humorous but informative book about being a father to a newborn. It deals with the kinds of things that come up that you won't find in a more general baby guide. What about sex with my wife after childbirth? How will the baby change my place in the family? These are the kinds of questions fathers think about, but might be afraid or embarrassed to say. That's why the book is worth reading.

Summary: More Please!!
Review: I would love a part two-what a great read!!I spent most of the time laughing out-loud. It's true, it's just about all true!! No such thing as the "perfect" baby or "perfect" father-fact of life-get used to it. But find Joy in the chaos also!!The book covers the good times and the bad times with easy to read vignettes and stories from dads just like me. It's ok to have angry feeling because you're not sleeping well or get puked on once in a while or because you can't do the things you used to like to do. But it's also ok to tell your baby how in love you are with her, take her to new places, tell your wife how much you love her because of her hard work or shed a tear because of the beauty of it all!! This book allows for mixed feelings-something other books don't mention. Such is life. If you plan to be a truly active father in the life of your baby and family, this is a must read. Wish Dr. Goldman would write another book about the second year!!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: do not bother buying it!
Review: If you are serious to take care of your baby, this is not the book for you. Go and buy SEARS book. There is more information in that!

This is for 'fathers' who want to complain about the work, dodge the responsiblity and alleviate the 'burden'.
