Rating: Summary: This book saved my life. Review: Prior to reading this book, I was fast becoming disabled with RA. I read the book in one sitting, made an appointment with my doctor and insisted upon the treatment prescribed by the book. The instructions in the book were so clear, I was able to instruct my doctor on what needed to be prescribed and in what dosage. Since beginning the treatment I've gone from being almost bedridden to living a fairly normal life again -- and I've only just begun the treatment. Anyone with RA, Lupus or Scleroderma should definitely read this book and try the treatment.
Rating: Summary: Finally, a book about a positive treatment method! Review: Since being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I have read a vast number of books about it and about different treatments. However, this book really resonates! It is well written, easy to understand, credits the reader with having intelligence, and positions its argument very well. It was also interesting to read the case studies alongside the theory of the treatment. I found it so convincing that I am going to try the treatment. I was also impressed that when I e-mailed the author to ask for Australian contacts, I received a reply a day later. An excellent book, with all possible aspects of the treatment discussed.
Rating: Summary: Hope for autoimmune diseases Review: The information in this book is full of hope for those with autoimmune diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scheroderma, and others. My wife was diagnosed with schleroderma ten years ago. This disease -- fatal for many -- has been put in remission by this therapy. We could not be more grateful. This book is highly recommended. Another excellent resource, on the Web, is The Road Back Foundation at www.roadback.org
Rating: Summary: Excellent! It saved my husband from years of pain. Review: This book is an absolute must for anyone with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or scleroderma. My husband was in agonizing pain when I came across this book. It changed our lives forever! Everything in the book makes sense Ra is caused by a strep infection that when left untreated slowly destroys the body. Doctors only want to treat symptoms. Why not treat the cause! This book gives you all the answers.
Rating: Summary: Make your physician listen to this or find one who will Review: This book is readable and makes sense. If you have an inflammatory form of arthritis, this could be the answer--an antibiotic treatment which has none of the devastating effects of accepted treatments. I just read this book and am looking for someone to prescribe and monitor the treatment for me--preferably in the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico.
Rating: Summary: Everyone with a connective tissue disease should read this! Review: This book lays out in clear and precise detail the scientific and political bias which has led to the suppression of this simple, inexpensive and effective treatment. Because we were able to find Dr. Brown's book "The Road Back", a loved one who suffered from scleroderma is now in remission. There is still an uphill fight to get this treatment available, because the drugs Tetracycline, Minocycline, and Doxycycline are inexpensive compared to the patented, dangerous, and expensive drugs now used. Total cost of all drugs so far to us: $60! That includes what insurance paid! No drug company is going to sponsor approval by FDA, and the organizations sposoring research, as well as the specialists do not want to believe they have been following the wrong thesis all along. Every patient should have a chance to learn about this protocol and decide. Thse drugs are virtually risk-free, as witness their long term use to treat teen-age acne! Your doctor can prescribe them; an off-label use is perfectly acceptable. The late Dr. Thomas McPherson Brown, M.D. will one day get the credit he deserves.
Rating: Summary: This book saved my life. I have Scleroderma. Review: This book saved my life. I have Scleroderma and this book opened the door to treatment that has been around for over 40 years. I owe my life to the work and dedication of Dr. Thomas McPherson Brown.
Rating: Summary: If you read only one book - read THIS ONE Review: This is a great book...anyone with arthritis owes it to themselves to check this one out. I read the book (in one day) and have been following the therapy (antibiotic treatment) described in it for 2 years now. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis - this book and the treatment have improved my life...dramatically. I'm able to do "everyday" things again - and it's wonderful! The book is very easy to read - giving detailed information and explanations of what the treatment is, how it's administered and what the possible results could be. I highly recommnend reading it today!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book of Enlightenment and Hope Review: This is a must read for all arthritic diseases. I was diagnosed last January with connective tissue disease...borderline Lupus. . . I have been on Minocin for 11 months, and feel like a new person. The treatment is benign and there wasn't any need for toxic drugs. My diagnosis was very frightening at the time...but the info in this book brought me "HOPE".I want to thank Mr. Scammell for bringing Dr.Brown's findings and successes for all to read. This book would be a wonderful Christmas present for someone you care deeply about. It would be a gift of hope and life.
