Summary: It Really Works
Review: I have followed the protocol in this book, no thanks to the rheumatologists who doubted it. After five years on minocycline, my RA factor is 30. It was 170 before I started the treatment. Minocycline is the only variable in my treatment. It also brought my SED rate and C-reactive protein back to normal levels.

Summary: The New Arthritis Breakthrough
Review: I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. The "traditional"medications that were given me by my Rheumatologist weren't workingand even though most of what I have been told and what I have read about the importance of resisting the temptation to search for "miracle cures," I had to try . . . I had to at least check out whatever books there were on any methods that I hadn't been offered to date. I simply could not "learn to live with the pain" and accept the disfigurement that would follow. I had already experienced some ugly side-effects from methotrexate and I knew there were worse side-effects from other medications in my future. I discoverd this book and I read it from cover to cover in one sleepless and pain filled night. The next morning I made an appointment with Doctor Sinnott and I received the treatment promoted in the book. Now, just weeks later, I am "me" again. I've purchased more copies of this book for friends and have recommended it to friends of friends--this is a terrific book. It is well written and easy to read. Buy it. END

Summary: Hard to believe a book could change my life
Review: I read the book in 1998 after suffering for 3 years with Rheumatoid arthritis. My doctors told me I wasn't bad enough to try any of the new drugs so I battled with extreme fatigue and joint pain with over-the-counter pain medication. I found the book to be repetitive in it's explanations of the disease. However, the testimonials of the suffers of the various diseases had me in tears. I convinced my MD to try the antibiotic therapy and after 3 months saw dramatic improvements. I was back to excercising and living a normal life! I recommend the book to everyone I know that is suffering from connective tissue disease.

Summary: Anyone with Arthritis should read this book.
Review: I read this book because my mother was diagnosed with rhumatoid arthritis and scleroderma earlier this year. The book is well written and the information in it is invaluable to anyone suffering from these and related diseases. It is very easy to read. It is about the method of treating arthritis with antibiotics based on the theory that the disease is caused by an infectious agent. I convinced my mother to give it a try. Her first treatment was at the end of September. At that time, her hands were in constant pain, she would wake up 4-5 times a night and she was extremely depressed all the time. She had absolutely no energy to do anything. Less than a month later, the pain in her hands was noticeably reduced, she was sleeping through the night, and her mood and energy level greatly improved. We have no doubt that this treatment is working for her. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has arthritis or any of the autoimmune diseases.

Summary: You owe it to yourself
Review: I was diagnosed with RA a month before my 40th birthday, and was fortunate enough to find this book (under its original title, The Road Back from RA) within 24 hours of my diagnosis. I was also fortunate enough to have a doctor who is a dear and caring friend, and who was willing to let me try this treatment. The pain and depression were devastating, and the loss of muscle tone left me weak, but within weeks of starting the antibiotic treatment I saw tremendous improvement. I continued to improve and have never once reverted back to the severity of the initial onset.

I am now 46 years old - I know there is a lot of negativity about the "misuse" of antibiotics, but the only other choice I was offered was at least 10 years of what essentially amounted to chemotherapy. When I read the book six years ago, they never promised me a cure - but they held out to me the hope of minimizing the damage to my body and achieving remission without the use of dangerous drugs with terrible side effects.

I have been in remission for some time now. I have to be careful about what I do - I keep my antibiotics handy in case I overdo the lawn work, or my exercise. But a year ago I had to have surgery for a knee injury unrelated to the RA and the orthopaedic surgeon, who is a sports surgeon, said that the rest of my knee and the cartilage looked so smooth and clear that he would never have guessed that I had had RA for five years. 'nough said.

Summary: This book changed my life and brought me back to health !!
Review: If I could give a book 100 stars it would be this one! After suffering with psoriatic arthritis for several months I found the leading specialist in the US following Dr. Brown's treatment methods. Two years later symptom free! The treatment requires discipline and patience. Well worth the wait. I used to use a cane, now I'm back to fast walking and can run for short distances because I am out of shape. If you are an arthritic or love one, this is the best gift you could give to another human suffering from this disease. This should be required reading for all physicians. I AM LIVING PROOF YOU CAN GET RID OF ARTHRITIS! GOD SPEED!

Summary: A must read for arthritis sufferers
Review: If you have found this page you are, or you care about, an arthritis patient. You should read this book. I did, and after 27 years with severe psoriatic arthritis, my life is totally changed: after ten months on doxycycline, swelling, pain and fatigue are almost gone, and normal strength is coming back to me. What makes this book especially valuable is its description of Dr. Brown's many extraordinarily perceptive insights about arthritis, both physical and especially psychological aspects. After 5 knee surgeries and uncountable drugs I was reluctant to even try another new treatment- he understood that, and much more that I immediately identified with. This treatment may not work for everybody, but it is so safe and cheap, everyone should consider it carefully. This book gives you what you need to know (and what your doctor probably doesn't know, unfortunately). Thank you, Dr. Brown, and Henry Scammell!

Summary: This could be a miracle
Review: It seems to be the case that practical medicine takes a long time to catch up with medical research. The author presents what appears to be compelling evidence that a bacteria causes rheumatoid diseases, and that they can be treated with antibiotics. Dr. Brown, who pioneered this work, died nearly ten years ago, but his co-author has elected to continue the fight to get this information to the public. The book does a good job of explaining the theory, the treatment, and how a number of patients responded to it. I think this medical discovery could be a on a par with the discovery that H. pylori bacteria cause the vast majority of ulcers....no one believed it, but it turns out it's true. If you or someone you love has rhuematoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, or even lupus, you owe it to yourself to consider the information presented here. The science is strong, the treatment appears to be low risk, and the success rate is high.

Summary: It gave me back my life!
Review: My Rheumatoid Arthritis started in August of 1997 and by September of 1998, I was having one to two flares a week that left me bedridden, drained and in more pain that I thought possible. My doctor had tried many drugs - prednisone from the start - to methotexate (with serious side effects)and nothing worked or brought relief - other than heavy pain killers. Then I found this book while I was trying to do research - I read it - contacted the Road Back Foundation -and went to my doctor well prepared. She wanted me to try Arava but I insisted on trying minocin and she reluctantly gave in. I started 2/16/99 and had a bad flare on 2/19 & 20. I have been pain free ever since! I stopped prednisone 2/17/99. I used to have a feeling that my bones felt broken all the time -I was afraid someone would bump into me or I would fall. I don't have that feeling any more! It gave me back my life!! I'm just lucky that I found the book by chance - otherwise I'd be trying even more drugs that were AWFUL! Knowledge is power and this is the most powerful book I've ever read! Please buy the book for yourself or someone you love - this is an awful disease and a terrible way to live....and you can find the road back to your old life.
